Bhupathi to retire after 2013

No mention about this here? Around a week ago, while responding to his Davis Cup ban by the AITA (), he said :

Quote:
I am at the fag end of my career. Next year will definitely be my last on tour. I am not even sure whether I am going to play a whole schedule

I believe it would be safe to assume that Nestor knew that Bhupathi may not play "a whole schedule". If so, then why did he agree to this pairing? Maybe, 2013 will be his last year too.

Probably he'll not retire in 2013. He's also younger than fellow Indian Leander Paes.

He said 2013 is his last year.

All these talks are too premature..He is only 38...And moreover I am sure if he does really well with Nesor ..he would continue...Then will make statement like " Well we have been doing well why rock the boat "

Where do you guys come from?

There is no ambiguity in that. He also said that this is a decision he had made 2 years ago. Moreover, Bhupathi is a man of few words. When he volunteers information about his retirement, he is not going to go back on that word.

Re: Bhupathi to retire after 2013

Lets see... he still needs to win AO Men's Doubles. I've heard that they two were to retire in early thirties, but paes (or bhupathi) spoke with the other to prolong the career. I read/heard this in some news, dont remember.

BTW, Paes had said that it would be difficult to continue playing tennis in 2010 and yet he's continuing. So their decision might change.
