Till what age will Bryan Brothers Play?

Bob Bryan said "He's shown us all that it's possible to play until you're 40" while he was speaking about Daniel Nestor. So, till what age do you think Bryans will play? What more will they achieve?

Re: Till what age will Bryan Brothers Play?

Dont know but they said after London win that they will DEFINITELY play in Rio (something like theyve already circled the event in their calendar). I think they added that it would be nice to end their career at the Olympics. So late 30's as of now. But who knows, they can change their mind.....

They will definitely be around through 2016, but I doubt they would simply retire after the Olympics, even if they won. I wouldn't be surprised if they were around for the 2020 Olympics.

Unless things change drastically in doubles in the next several years. They never have played vigorous schedules like many other players and with even slightly more reduced schedules, I don't see them not being one of the top teams for many years to come.

I think as long as they are world #1 double, they won't go. Has anyone retired being #1 before? But I believe they will stay for no longer than 3-4 more years.

I reckon they can play till 40. Nestor's nearing 40 yet he's still good. Paes is 39, Bhuphati 38, etc.

They definitely could play another 8 years, but I doubt they would be motivated for that long. Within a couple of years, there would be very few records left for them to break. They have achieved almost everything there is to achieve.

The only thing really left for them is the CYGS, which they could already have if they didn't choke at the end of the Slams so often. Including this year. More RG would certainly help their legacy. And the Masters Series titles they haven't won: Indian Wells, which is just bizarre that they haven't won, since they are from California. Montreal and Shanghai.

iirc quite a lot of singles players play doubles there, makes it harder for doubles specialists to win, as they aren't as good.

Re: Till what age will Bryan Brothers Play?

The Bryans have never lost to a singles player there. They usually crush the top singles player when they meet. The 2008 Olympics being a big exception. They just always get tough draws and/or get beat by the surprise eventual champs. They just never seem to play that well in IW. And this year Mike was sick AGAIN. There's at least 4 Masters Series and a TMC that they pulled out of because Mike is injured or sick. He must have gotten the weaker genetics.
