AO F :Paes/Stepanak beat Bryan Brothers 76 62

They beat the 3 2 and 1 seeds to win the title
Paes also does the career grand slam
Stepanak was just very good today ,his first grand slam in mens doubles

Stepanek was scary good this match. His style is perfect for doubles.
Both guys have great chemistry and it was nice to see how much the title means to both of them.

I respect Bob and Mike, but this is a fantastic result. Paes had been chasing the career Grand Slam for a few years, and it is great that he has been able to achieve it. The man is a legend of the game, overcame a nasty illness to his brain a few years ago, and deserves extra credit for achieving this feat at the ripe old age of 38! It just proves what you can achieve if you don't give up...

Also nice that Stepanek wins a Slam. As others say, his game is perfect for doubles and would complement Paes' skills nicely.

well done to both

happy that Radek won a slam in doubles, if he had concentrated more in doubles in the past years he would have won a lot more, but rightfully was dedicated to his singles career. Maybe if he sees that he cant do much in singles he can have a few seasons as protagonist in doubles

It feels great to see them win. As an Indian, I am so proud of Leander.

It's been tough time for us Indian sports fan every since winning cricket world cup. We have not really won much. Leander though with the help of Stepanek has gotten some great smiles on our faces.

Thanks.

I called it so I'm happy. They had a very tough draw but have been impressive all tournament. Stepanek is very solid and makes you wonder how the doubles tour would look if more singles players gave it a real chance.

Every top 100 singles player is GS material in doubles if he chooses to commit himself to it.

I get the point, but don't think it's wholly applicable

Re: AO F :Paes/Stepanak beat Bryan Brothers 76 62

What an absolute master-class in doubles this was from Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek. That they just ran away with the first tiebreaker 7-1 was the first sign of dominance, but the second set took it to a different level.

Congratulations, Leander and of course he kept bowing to Radek during the match to liven things up. Leander was emotional at the end, and surely had reason to be, having completed a career men's doubles Grand Slam, and done it in the presence of friends like Martina Navratilova.
