Swinging in the Indoor/Outdoor Hard Courts Cheering Thread

Viktor will play Thomaz Bellucci in 2nd round Bangkok. Viktor is seeded 4th and has a first round bye!

He reached 2nd round here last year so he has to win to defend his points.

Viktor also has to defend points from last year QFs in Tokyo and Moscow. Good luck!

Good luck to him, Bellucci is in decent form at the moment

Troicki - Djokovic - Del Potro - Kyrgios - Berankis
Cibulkova - Robson - Kirilenko - Azarenka
Retired but always loving Ferrero - Ancic - Kiefer

Re: Swinging in the Indoor Hard Courts Cheering Thread

Watching the match right now on a live stream. Long time since I've seen him playing live (Umag) and it isn't as bad as I thought. Bellucci has started very well but Troicki survived through his first games and is playing better now. Although it's still far from his best.

He does seem fysically okay.

Hope he can win this, he really needs it.

Re: Swinging in the Indoor Hard Courts Cheering Thread

he's doing ok. Taken the first set 6-3, and only looked in trouble on his own serve on one occasion. Bellucci's serving well, but Vik is all over his second serve. As long as his foot holds up and his own serve keeps together, he'll get this in 2 I reckon.

Ouch, misses a 15-40 on 4-4 in 2nd set. Very good chance on the 2nd bp. Troicki is the more consistent player, but I feel that he really needs to win this set...

Yeah i totally agree. I think Vik could get frustrated if he doesn't take it in two. And his conditioning may not be great right now. He's not having too many troubles on his own serve (opponent has only been past 30 on his serve once in whole match), but it just takes one bad game, and suddenly we're a set all. Or a bad tie break. Well, he holds again, easily for 5-5. Only 6 points conceded in his serve all set.

Again chances, 0-30, and then three awful points, such a shame. Hope he gets to the TB and that the 2nd set serve stats follow through there...

Nooooooo, come on! He shouldn't get frustrated by that return on 3-0. He should stay aggressive and doesn't cut the pace.

3-3 at the change over. 3 straight points for Bellucci. Grrr.

Bellucci serving great now, that's bad.

Ah finally an overrule in favor of Vik, *5-4!

Re: Swinging in the Indoor Hard Courts Cheering Thread

yep....massive decision for Vik. And gets the tiebreak 7-4. Not perfect by any means, but enough. I fancy his chances against Isner if that's who he gets in the quarters.

Re: Swinging in the Indoor Hard Courts Cheering Thread

Isner or Zverev, he is both the favourite imo. And I think it was pretty good today, and he didn't show any sign of fysical discomfort, that's maybe the best thing.

Can't believe this guy needed 5 sets against Dustov...

Re: Swinging in the Indoor Hard Courts Cheering Thread

Hopefully will watch the match on espn360.com tomorrow morning with Viktor's match last on OOP. It's tough to follow the tournament when OOP starts at 10pm here.

Viktor will play Isner who is high with confidence defeating Roddick in USO. A tough match but if Viktor plays his best, he has the chance to win.
