This is the only tennis player I wish I was single for and of course much younger, and of course not Jewish

Re: Amer 2009 cheering thread (the australian start)

Yeah way to many UE's. Plus Cilic's groundstrokes and mental stability are too much for Amer. I like Marin as well but I always like the underdog . Besides to quote the wonderful Fee; Amer is lovely

Re: Amer 2009 cheering thread (the australian start)

Cilic's mental stability? he blew the second set pretty bad....

but not the third, good effort amer it's such a crime he's not in the top 100

Re: Amer 2009 cheering thread (the australian start)

I probably would have enjoyed this match, but I needed to take a nap even more. Amer should be a top 100 player, but he's the only one who can get himself there.

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.
