Re: Konnichiwa Chat! Formerly the first ever Kei Nishikori Cheering Thread

Like me, bunny It's hard for Asians like us to watch the tennis tours happen in North America, I usually have to stay up late to watch US open and some other great tours in US, and it influenced a lot on my studying in the following day..
ANyways I also like the US hard court season, because there are many good-quality tournaments like US open, Toronto or Cincinnati....so Hope Kei will be able to achieve many sighnificant successes in US this year

Congratulations to your favourite player Lu today I know you must be very proud.
Boy was I thrilled watching Lu play live and winning those big matches! It doesn't happen often :P
It's winter for me, but I still find time to play tennis at night in the cold. I'm hoping Kei will give us somthing to get excited about during the US season, he need some luck with the draws!!

I'm OK, busy with my job and following tennis! For me the US hard court season is the hardest to follow because of the time difference.

Hope Kei will have great summer and will make MD at USO!
Bunny, I'm sure everybody that drops by this part of the forum is grateful for all your updates, especially news related to Kei. Many thanks and just post when you can

Hope Rendy will build up on the great result at Wimbledon. He was a joy to watch in that match against Roddick!

Re: Konnichiwa Chat! Formerly the first ever Kei Nishikori Cheering Thread

It's kind of interesting that Kei has played both Rafa and Nole at a GS this season. Of course, the two USO finalists must have been playing in a different gear in an early round from the way they will play in the final, but Kei can see what it takes to reach a slam final and win.
Just a random thought after the stupid rain washed out Sunday...

He's been practicing and is planning to play at Malaysian Open and at Rakuten Open in Tokyo, which he received WC from both.
He's also trying to get in to Shanghai (listed in quilifier), then to Stockholm etc.
Check his facebook for his updates also.

I was crying after Takahiko ozuka's performance on WC. Bloody brilliant! (Did I say he is my favourite skater? Love him so much!)
Daisuke So unlucky.

Yeah Kozuka was wonderful especially in his free skating. I've always thought he's the most musical of the top three Japanese guys.
I agree Daisuke was so unfortunate. That was one freak accident...

My favourite male figure skaters are Johnny Weir, Bran Joubert and Yuzuru Hanyu. Watch Hanyu rise in the next few years! He actually comes from Sendai, which was devastated by the March 11 earthquake. At the time of quake he was practicing at the rink in the city, which of course was damaged by the tremor. Although he and his family were not hurt, he spent four days in a shelter because there was no water or electricity at his house.

As you probably know the world championship was scheduled to take place in Tokyo in late March but was cancelled because of the quake. So I'm so glad Miki won the gold in women's singles. Although I'm more of a Mao fan, I though Miki's performaces were the best both in the short programme and free skating. A bit sad to see Mao struggle after changing her jump forms. Hope she'll come back strong in the next season (but her costume for SP was )!

I saw Hanyu, he is exremely talented I've heard about he was in Sendai at this time, several days we did worry about his safety (I mean on Russian figure skating forums). Love Miki, she was brilliant (but I dislike her coach, he is so arrogant and self-loving). Mao's dresses are total mess
