Congrats to Kei!!!
He won against top 10 players, like Ferrer or Blake. If he displays his ability to the full, he will move into top 10 sooner or later.
But I think he is no need to rush. He is only 18 and began his career as a professional player just one year ago! All I want now is to see his best tennis as much as possible.
It's good that he is now at no. 66 that's +11 spots higher than his previous ranking, the project 45 will soon be destroyed
. But of course we all know what his future goal is, which is to be a top 10 player or even the world number one. I really believed its possible, i just hope the injury subsides and will not be to serious, and hey his only 18. Knee injury is very serious, just look what happened to Tiger Woods. Well again lets hope that his injury was only a sore knee. Anyone has any news on how is Kei's knee problem?
I was hoping that he'll play qualifying at the Madrid Masters or even get a Wildcard, but i guess he needs a good rests for the upcoming tournaments (Guess he'll only have possible 1 tournament to join excluding the BNP Paribas Masters). Regarding the Wildcard at Madrid Masters, i think he should have been given one,
that's my bias opinion. LOL.
I am also hoping that he can play at the coming BNP Paribas Masters. Anyone knew the draw size? This week's madrid master's draw was 48. If the BNP Masters draw size will be 64, im sure Kei will have automatic entry, not all Top 64 players will play at that event for sure. Or again if that is not possible let's hope he'll be given a wildcard, or he just needs to do the hardway which is to go to qualifying.
Am i thinking ahead of time?
Sorry i'm just excited for Nishikori!
Can't wait for next year!
