Unfortunately something has come up and I cannot manage the Aussie Open as I will be very short on time. I'm very sorry and I hope we can get a new manager on such short notice

i think maybe we should start a new thread for this season, maybe its a bit late to be considering it (since its already been a week), but it would be a lot tidier, be more organised, and be more presentable if we didnt just reuse the 2008/2009 thread. and all the other games have new threads for this season

Yes, good idea. I will start new threads for rankings. Can I let you start the new thread for DTT Management ?

The DTT board that was put in place when the game started in February 2008 was made of the founder of the game (Drikke) + Boarder35m and myself. Drikke was less involved last year in DTT and with the very great help of Alex (Boarder35m), we acted as DTT Board.

But, this year, as I have announced, I will have to give up DTT Management (at least until end March) but I can help if there are any doubts regarding rules. I will also keep the ownership of publishing rankings weekly (hopefully, with a better responsiveness than last year).

Any volunteer is anyway welcome to join the DTT Board, especially you and 156mphserve who are doing a great job in management of first tournament of the year.

Hello guys

I think we should start a new board. I was less involved last year and I will still be less involved this year. I'm trying to finish my education .

I won't have time to manage any tournaments, maybe 1 or 2 in the next months. But I could still be a member of the board. With this board we should new make a new rules thread, last weeks there have been much discussions which are not good for our game.

Yannick, I hope you could still be a member of the board ? Kengyin? 156mphserve ? Alex? Others?

Re: Doubles Tennis Tipping (DTT) Managers Thread-- New season, new managers needed

I definately think a rules thread is necessary. It frustrates me when 1 manager does one thing and I lose because of it and another manager does it differently because there's not clear cut way to do something written down and and I lose then too. If the rules were written down and done the same all the time I would have won 1 of those matches. I'd be happy to help make it happen so we can stop the confusion on how certain things are supposed to work

Thank you, I think you're completely right about that I will wait for some other reactions and will take action next week

Re: Doubles Tennis Tipping (DTT) Managers Thread-- New season, new managers needed

I agree with a rules thread. I also have to say that there should be some place to show the points that each type of tournament give.
As I was looking some previous tournaments, I noticed that the points posted in the presentation posts were not accurate. For example an ATP 500 give 300 to the winner, and it was stated as 500 or 200.
I only noticed the poll thread for the rules change for last year, so it was a little difficult to find the points system.

Points are the same as for TT:

- 0 points for R1 losses (except in GS, which are mandatory)
- GS = 1000 W, 700 F, 450 SF, 250 QF, 150 R3, 75 R2, 5 R1(+20 for qualifier)
- Masters = 500, 350, 225, 125, 75, 35, 0 (+20 for qualifier)
- 500 = 300, 210, 135, 75, 25, 0 (+15 for qualifier)
- 250 = 200, 140, 90, 50, 20, 0 (+10 for qualifier)

If you get a bye in first round and lose in second round, you are granted points of loser of first round.

2012: 98 (W: Bucharest)
2011: 65
2010: 34 (W: Memphis)

I can be but my availability will be very limited (01:00 am CET and I am just able to connect ... Too much work ...). So, unfortunately, do not count on me for DTT Management and I cannot be a reliable DTT Assistant ...

Regarding rules, these are the same as TT except following ones I have used constantly during whole year last year:

- when a match is postponed from more than 1 day, it is up to the manager to decide to cancel it or keep it.
- late picks are accepted (as for TT in 2008). No strict deadline (when matches start is usually used).
- in Masters Series, first round losers can be lucky losers of second round.
- Alternates can commit until first round starts.
- Challenger matches are not used by default but when really required (because not enough main tour matches), they will count only in case of tie-breaker for main draw matches ...

That is all I have in mind for the moment ...
