Re: Clay Season Thread 2009

Good match today JoWi, made me smile a little, on a day when I didn't think tennis would make me smile.

It really is good to see he is finally "off and running" on the clay- I hope he can get on a good run here, the slight altitude does seem to benefit aggressive players, which was nice to see.

OMG girls, just saw your discussion on JoWi's strapping. That would be one heck of a weird tattoo!

Q. You must have so many different emotions going through your head. Was it like a rollercoaster for you?
STANISLAS WAWRINKA: Yeah, yeah, it's quite crazy..I never expect to win a Grand Slam.
I never dream about that because for me, I was not good enough to beat those guy.

Maybe the sky will fall?

Re: Clay Season Thread 2009

He plays tomorow again in fourth match on the second stadium, around something like 15H00 local time (16H00 french time, I think).

It's against Lyubicic obviously and it's going to be a good match like in australia I hope.

Yes, I like the hair. The buzz cut gives him a somewhat bad-ass look. I kind of wonder how he would look with much longer hair now...

I think I will be able to watch his match tomorrow provided it's late enough. If not, Good Luck Jo!

Re: Clay Season Thread 2009

Good, solid match from Jo. Well done! Safin actually played quite well, and I was applauding both players when each made a nice shot. Like the nice gesture when they shook hands at the end

Jo stepped up to the plate when it really counted at the tail-end of each set. Really pleased with his performance – this is a preamble of better things to come, I hope. Good luck against Ljubicic.

I don't mind the bad-ass look, he has a great bone structure and can probably pull off all kinds of hairstyles. But I prefer the more boyish, cuddly look longer hair gives him. Actually, I don't care much for his hair. As long as he's healty and playing, he can support a Verdasco mohawk and I will not be bothered.

I was curious and I looked up older pictures of him with much longer hair from the very first link on the pictures thread. They are adorable! Granted, he was younger but still very cute.

Re: Clay Season Thread 2009

Jo's playing against Ljubicic as of now and he is one set down
But he just broke in the second so I am still very confident he will win this.
Allez Jo!
