2014, Season at the Americas!

No words , he was up *3-0 with a double break, then he had 3 SP's serving for the set at *5-4 40-0, and now he loses the set in yet another tiebreak ( he's lost all 6 TB's he's played this season IIRC). No real expectations for the 2nd set, I expect a similar outcome to the Thiem match).

Benoît Paire, Edouard Roger-Vasselin,Nicolas Mahut, Jeremy Chardy, Aljaz Bedene, Florian Mayer, Tommy Robredo, Evgeny Korolev, Albert Ramos, Guillaume Rufin

Oh come on! Sousa can play really well when his back's against the wall but seriously, from 5-4 40-0? This has got to be a new low.

This is depressive, he wasted two SP's again, one on a DF. Allez Gilles!

Re: 2014, Season at the Americas!

From set points to break point yet again... I don't know if this is some sort of elaborate private joke? My nerves don't find it very amusing in any case

Edit : well he finally made it. Thank god.

Finally he takes the 2nd set 6-3 after saving a BP. Good to finish on an Ace the set, I hope he keeps this up in the third!

I don't think he can comeback in this, his serve is too bad nowadays to string consecutive games.

2014, Season at the Americas!

Well, it seems like this is the end for Gilles. He can't even win matches vs guys he would always beat on this kind of matches ( today the match was +3h.), and he is always having problems on the key moments on matches. His serve is such a liability now, I don't know why, maybe it's the back/neck again troubling him, but he's getting broken a lot of times each match. Also, I question what is De Witt bringing to him, I thought he was the right option for Gilles ( and things didn't start bad ), but he seems not to be helping Gilles with anything. His ranking will go over #30 as he was defending 180 pts. , and look at Tipsy, he's right now around #70, I hope that doesn't happen to Gilles but he seems to be definitely going that way. I will always support him, but definitely this year is making me lose any hope of him being Top-20. Maybe toughing up a win here would have help him kickstart his season, who knows, he's desperately in the need of confidence, he should ask a WC for Casablanca, and try to get some wins.

Sigh, It's at that point now where if you're a Gilles Simon fan, it's time to start worrying about just what the future actually holds for him. I'm not sure. It feels pretty grim right now. He may be heading down the Nikolay Davydenko path of no return. I still have faith in him finding a consistent top 30 (at least) form, but it's dwindling fast with each passing tournament.

It's kinda funny
But omg, is he fragile or what. During DC? like in beginning of Feb? And he didn't stop

Honestly, I'm kind of glad that something was wrong because these results were really worrisome.
