Simon Aims for Second Final in Three Weeks; Massu Wins

Frenchman Gilles Simon, seeded eighth, beat No. 3 seed Christophe Rochus of Belgium 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 in the quarterfinals of the Grand Prix Hassan II in Casablanca Friday.
Simon, 21, is seeking to gain his second ATP final in three weeks, which would also be the second ATP final of his career. He was runner-up at Valencia two weeks ago (l. to Almagro). The victory Friday raised his record to 13-6 for 2006. Prior to this year, he had won only six ATP matches in his career.
Simon has won nine out of his last 11 matches and has lifted his INDESIT ATP Ranking to a career best No. 62.
In the semifinals Saturday, Simon will play No. 7 seed Daniele Bracciali of Italy, who upset No. 2 seed Luis Horna 6-7(12), 6-4, 7-6(3) Friday. The two will be playing their first ATP match against each other.
