not that i think anything bad with gilles getting the night match..im just a little surprised that they picked his instead of the querrey/berdych one

then again this tournament has been unpredictable with its night matches the whole way through.

Maybe they just don't want the Isner/Cilic vs Tsonga match potentially goes on at the same time as the Querrey vs Berdych match in case the American supporters need to attend both. Even though Isner just lost the first set...

maybe it'll be Monfils then. if I were gasquet, I'd choose to let the sprain heal before the start of the clay season...

I only mean from the Captain's point of view, he may take Gasquet (who hasn't shown much effect of his bumped ankle) over a bad form Simon, but if you mean from Gasquet pov, then I suppose he'll probably want to rest his ankle then, besides, playing with sore ankle against his nemesis Nalby is probably not that desirable. So it will make sense if Gasquet decides to decline his selection if it comes to that. As for Monfils, not sure, he hasn't play for a whole month, no reference point to decide what shape he's in.

Looks like Gilles is on the DC team. Probably as the standby or the guy who will only play if there is a dead rubber. Dead rubbers are his specialty after all.

Re: 2013 Spring US Hardcourts, Allez!

DC announced already? I thought they will wait until monday. Well, it's good I guess, if Gilles loses today, he doesn't need to fly back to France only to find out later that he's required in BA next week. Although maybe he should still do that, accompany the family home first.

Re: 2013 Spring US Hardcourts, Allez!

Oh, i have a better explanation for today's OOP. Tomorrow's OOP out and the winner of Djoko/Haas played last match of the day against winner of Simon/Tipsy. Since Nole's match is at nite session, hence Gilles' match also.

Re: 2013 Spring US Hardcourts, Allez!

3 all, each broken once.

So I was wondering, how's Tipsy gets into form in such short span, and Gilles' stuck in bad form for a month? Very annoying isn't it? Yes.

He's going to lose the first set, isn't he? I can feel it. From serving for it .
