Ooh he's hitting the ball beautifully now! Just had a rough start, it would appear...

Oh nevermind, my good stream was dead, my bad stream was silent and frozen, I don't know what's going on...meanwhile, the game goes on while everything including the scoreboard was frozen.

Way to go Gilles! I knew he'd right the ship. He's not ready to go home yet.

Congrats Gilles! I guess Volandri was injured at the end. Hopefully he works his way into better form.

I just saw a set and a half and it wasn't looking good, so I'm glad he finally made it. His serve was so crap, and his groundies were without many pace, hope it gets better.

Re: 2013 Australia, new adventure begins in Down Under

I'm not sure on Gilles yet this year. His serve seems to have lost a little pace and he is slightly slower. Hopefully it is just getting into the season and finding his game and not a sign of getting older.

He lost 2nd round at the Oz last year, so hopefully can win another match or 2 and gain some ranking points.

Re: 2013 Australia, new adventure begins in Down Under

On L'Equipe:

He still has pain at the neck and back, and on top of that, he's also sick with a cold.

Re: 2013 Australia, new adventure begins in Down Under

He doesn't look half as bad as the start of last match, but the result is the same, 2 breaks down and this first set may finish even faster than last time. Don't know what to say. Jeez.

Re: 2013 Australia, new adventure begins in Down Under

In a very hot day, he's having a very hot head...

Well, I want to cut him some slack, playing tennis in 40 degree sun and having a cold, his head is probably a little clouded. He's just cranky as hell. Maybe if he calms down a bit he'll start to play a little better.
