Re: 2013 Spring US Hardcourts, Allez!

in the paper:

Gilles . He's just too much sometimes
He asked everyone to leave the court when he's down in the third set. Dumbfounded, but they all obliged and left one by one, first mom & dad, then Paul, then wife and son. He told them to go and said he'll win, although he's in a deep hole by then. He said he got really nervous and he started noticing everything on court, including the guy eating sandwich on the 3rd row, everything annoys him, that's why he has to ask everyone to leave, and that's why he doesn't want a coach. He said that's the time he needs to be alone...

Well, I hope his family didn't get mad at him for kicking them out during the match, at least he won it so they should at least feel ok. And he can still have a coach, just tell the coach to not watch his match . Oh well, anyway, just play better today and let them watch you play well, ok? Allez.

That must have been funny. In the ES presser, he said it wasn't his family's fault but he was mumbling to them the story of his life and couldn't focus on the match. He also said he didn't utter a single word after they left. ^_^ At least, he didn't boot them out in embarrassing fashion à la Marion Bartoli.

Re: 2013 Spring US Hardcourts, Allez!

Gilles' match starts soon, in 10 mins. Can't decide if I want to watch or not, too nervous after last match . Don't know if he's any good today or if he's still that bad. Maybe I'll watch the first set and see how it goes. But then, I still won't know which way things will go after the first set, will I? Oh jeez, this is tough. Allez Gillou, please if you can just play well for once and make it easy on your fans.

Doesn't seem any better than last match so far. Broken twice in 3 service games. I'm not optimistic, am just going to not watch and go to dinner. Allez Gillou.

Yeah he's serving like shit on the far side, the sun's in his eyes. He played poorly on big points, too. Bad first set, but we'll see if he can turn it around.

Is he injured? What's with his serve?

This is really getting old fast. There's just no reason for him to be struggling like this. It's all in his head and yet he insists that he doesn't need a coach. Um, sorry Gilles, but that's exactly why you need a coach. Or a sports psychologist at the very least to remind you that you can actually play tennis.

I'll keep tabs on the match but I can't watch Gilles play like this. It just angers and disgusts me.

Paire is struggling, too. This is about to go three sets, you guys. Simon can win this match still.
