Re: Winter/Spring Indoor Season: First Stop: Montpellier

Gilles must have a better record against Gael than almost any other Frenchie surely!
Anyway I love watching Gael. He's a real character! And they'll likely have a wee kiss at the net and GM will go nuts Allez Gilles!

I don't think ESPN is showing tennis in the U.S. I have been watching on a live stream.

Great match vs Monfils. Monfils had a crazy shot in the last game. Oh well, atleast Simon played a good match.

Tough loss Gilles . I didn't get to see it so I don't know how he played but it's encouraging for me that it was close.

I miss those days when Gilles used to win TBs, then again, who doesn't miss that 08 Gilles. I wish he gets himself out of this slump soon. Gilles

Good match, Gilles, altough he should have converted his chances. He is really a mental mess actually

Re: South American Claycourt Swing- Allez Gilles!

Post-match from L'Equipe:

Said he's working on his attitude...really? didn't see any difference yet , keep working on it. He'll rest a couple of days before resuming training, and leave for Sao Paulo on friday.

Allez, Gilles. Once again the clay season is most likely going to determine how successful this season is, especially now that he's placing so many eggs on his clay basket. I think he wants to do well in RG, so he's starting his clay season early, well speculation. Anyway, with Olympics cut off right after RG, he'll need a lot of points on clay to secure his place to London in the summer.

Re: South American Claycourt Swing- Allez Gilles!

Draw in Sao Paulo:

(6) Juan Carlos Ferrero - Leonardo Mayer
Blaz Kavcic - (Q)
Ricardo Mello - Pere Riba
Bye - (4) Thomaz Bellucci

(7) Albert Montañes - Filippo Volandri
(Q) - Rui Machado
David Nalbandian - Benoit Paire
Bye - Gilles Simon

Bye in R1, and then Paire/Nalby on R2, really tough draw, Nalby played great against Flo Mayer in DC, and Paire defeated Gilles the single time they played in Rotterdam. Also it's his first tournament on clay, so i don't expect much. Allez Gillou!

And in doubles, he plays w/Chardy, R1 opponents are Machado/Ramirez-Hidalgo.

Gilles Simon
Benoît Paire, Edouard Roger-Vasselin,Nicolas Mahut, Jeremy Chardy, Aljaz Bedene, Florian Mayer, Tommy Robredo, Evgeny Korolev, Albert Ramos, Guillaume Rufin

Terrible draw for Gilles

Oh well, if he plays his best he should win but he rarely does these days

Re: South American Claycourt Swing- Allez Gilles!

The dreamy double team won their first round. Can't remember when was the last time Gilles won a double. But I remember he and Jeremy won in Montreal a couple of years ago. Well done.

Re: South American Claycourt Swing- Allez Gilles!

OMFG Gillou won a doubs match!!!! !!!

And tonight against Nalby allez! I feel so out of touch - I was in the Outer Hebrides for a week and then I went to the Davis Cup tie against Slovakia (which was FAB!) and I forgot Gillou was playing this week!
