I couldn't watch the match, has anyone been watching? What's going on

Re: Asia/indoor 2011 - Hard isn’t getting easier but finish line is near!

he played woeful in the 1st set. his returning was so bad. the begining of the 2nd was still tight and until simon broke it was still touch and go. he then got rolling and looked a class above, as he should do.

he will need to step it up like 3 nothces to get close to murray tomorrow.

How about... good job he got the win in the end, Gilles is a well known slow starter. Good luck in the next round.

Didn't watch the match, glad he came thru.

Nothing to be alarm of though. I mean, he needed 5 sets to beat Mello on hard court but he only needed 4 to beat DelPo. Always the case with Gilles that he plays better when he faces a tougher opponent.

Anyway, good luck to him against Murray. Allez!

Exactly, his early round scores have no relation to how he will perform later in the tournament. For whatever reason, he just takes a long time to get into matches against lower ranked players. He'll probably lose to Murray in straights but that's because of the match-up, not necessarily because he's in bad form.

The draw on Beijing is not very good, Granollers on R1, Bellucci or Ferrero on R2, Jo on QF and Monfils or Tomas on QF. Allez! Also Allez against Murray

Gilles Simon
Benoît Paire, Edouard Roger-Vasselin,Nicolas Mahut, Jeremy Chardy, Aljaz Bedene, Florian Mayer, Tommy Robredo, Evgeny Korolev, Albert Ramos, Guillaume Rufin
