Re: Journey on to Indian Wells & Miami, 2011

Gilles' match started.

He lost his first service game. This is getting into a habit now . Also a habit, he broke back the next game. Let's see who holds first.

Allez Gilles. Andy just lost to Young, I need someone to cheer me up. So you better win.

Re: Journey on to Indian Wells & Miami, 2011

Then he lost his first service game in set 2 . Can't buy a first serve to save his life. C'mon Gilles, no more this roller coaster match.

Allez Gilles, break back now.

What's going on set 2?

Simon can't be a pusher, 'cause pushers are consistent which Gilles certainly is not. Not that I thought he was a pusher anyway.

Re: Journey on to Indian Wells & Miami, 2011

Broke back . now on serve 2-3. Obviously, holding seems to be a challenge. He is 44% on 1st serve this set and when it goes in, only winning 57%.

Allez allez.

Re: Journey on to Indian Wells & Miami, 2011

I read on Ayane's blog that someone said Gilles has problem with his arm this year, which gives him trouble with his serve. I guess that would explain some of his really bad services % in some of those matches. Otherwise, I'm really not understanding why he has been serving so badly for a long while now.

TB for the 2nd set. His TB record this year so far, 3-2.

Re: Journey on to Indian Wells & Miami, 2011

Took the TB at 5.

Well, get the job done, as I expect him to.

It's funny that when the draw came out, we probably all assume he will get Hasse and then Ferrer, turned out he got Schuettler and Karlovic. But Dr. Ivo is really on today, I saw the match, he played really well, although David is not anywhere near his best. So Dr. Ivo is a tough customer despite his ranking atm. Gilles better holds his serve against the serving machine.

Allez Gilles, good luck next round.
