Lancaster uni is unique (well, it claims to be) in that is allows you to take two extra subjects (minors) alongside your major, in your first year. Then you have the chance to change your major to one of your minors in your second year, if you get good enough marks. I enrolled for English Literature and Media as my minors and successfully got on those courses (A level grades are taken into account).
So basically the workload is split between those three subjects in the first year. So I will get a nice taster of each. This is perfect for me as I was slightly unsure marketing was the route I wanted to take as uni got closer.
