Re: 2009 Clay season

Are you hinting at "Jules and Jim" or is there another pun/reference I don't get?

They play tomorrow, 3rd match on Court 4.

Well... Stepanek is very dangerous on clay, and he beat Gilles last year in RG

Re: 2009 Clay season

from the official tournament website:
as it happened, yesterday, "Gilles Simon meanwhile looked like he’d got the cares of the world on his shoulders – but then he always does. With his tousled mop of hair and fresh face to go with his serious expression, he always looks like a little boy struggling with some difficult homework… He signed a raft of autographs though, as did Juan Martin del Potro, who is (a) unfeasibly tall and (b) at lot more relaxed than “Gillou”."

Italians still remember the match vs Bolelli of last season. Seems Gilles is not only going to face an Italian claycourter in the 1st round, also he is going to play against all the Italian fans of the Pietrangeli in a similar davis cup atmosphere.

Allez Gilles!

Then, let's hope Federer is still enough haunted by his last year's run there to take Sexy out of the picture That said, regarding Gilles' last year match in RG, I only watched the third set and from my recollection, even Federer would have beaten him on that day.

Le Poussin! Faithfully ignoring the haters since 1995.
