I hope Jeremy repeats a win against Ferrer just to keep French hopes alive
Can't believe Marat is losing to Isner AGAIN one of the ones I'm rooting for!

Re: 2009 Chameleon Hardcourt Season Thread: Indian Wells

His interview in L'Equipe:
Quote:

Je me suis énervé trop vite.
Point. »

Re: 2009 Chameleon Hardcourt Season Thread: Indian Wells

Thanks Fran for the interview. He looks agressive in the interview, specially in his last answer. Even if he is right, it is a bit straight I think.
He definitely needs to relax and to take a break. As he already faced it last year, he knows how to manage and this is good.

Re: 2009 Chameleon Hardcourt Season Thread: Indian Wells

Yes, I had exactly the same feeling. And he's not honest with his last anwer, he perfectly knows why the semi-finals in Marseille and Dubai were "limite naze".
I hope he's right when he means "a couple of days off and I'll be fine again". That's what he said before the DC too and he did look kind of refreshed in Ostrava, but it didn't last long. He's been looking a bit "burnt out" to me since Rotterdam already.
But Tulasne also says so (« Il a simplement besoin d’une pause pour être de nouveau content de jouer », dédramatisait son entraîneur Thierry Tulasne).

In another interview yesterday, he said it was not a coincidence if he managed to go through the first round against Lu and lost against Ljubicic. The match against Lu was fun, there were rallies, they were really playing tennis. While he doesn't enjoy at all playing big servers. A bit like after the Llodra match in Marseille, when he complained he was bored against this kind of opponents, etc.
At least it will be less of a problem on clay.

Re: 2009 Chameleon Hardcourt Season Thread: Indian Wells

I have also this feeling about him being "burned" at the moment, specially mentally.
At the same time, his winter break was shorter than usual, I think it is Gasquet who "complained" about this last year. Playing the masters final in somehow changed the preparation.
In welovetennis today, they also talked about the fact he is changing his game at the moment, and this takes time and of course, he lost some matches and will lose others. Without this work to change his games, he can improve in the future his actual rank. This is true.
But honestly I am bit happy that clay season is arriving, it will easier for him and I am aso impatient to see him play on that surface.

I wish him the best of luck in Miami and hope I don't jinx anything since I've been watching his matches since the beginning of this year
I want that fighting Gillou we all loved to root for. His fans will stick by him through the bad times, even though a few has lost hope.I will never lose hope in Gillou

Re: 2009 Chameleon Hardcourt Season Thread: Indian Wells

I agree it's more important to be there in the bad times of Gillou, when he wins it's too easy to be his fan.

this is what my fave female player ever: Seles, the youngest french open champion said last year; it was a great and stylish way to thank the fans
" I especially want to thank all my wonderful, loyal fans for all of their support for me over the years. They have inspired me throughout my career in the good times and comforted me in the bad times. I have always been so proud to have such a special group of precious fans to call my very own and felt they were the best an athlete could ever hope to have."

I also hope he wil be more lucky with the draw in Miami, when the draw was out at IW, I almost fainted reading Gillou was going to play the Croats in 3rd round and then friend Tsonga.

Allez Gillou!!!
