Re: 2009 Chameleon Hardcourt Season Thread: Dubai

But that could be helpful since Gilles seems to handle the heat just fine and Nole somedays gets wiped out by it, no?

Re: 2009 Chameleon Hardcourt Season Thread: Dubai

I agree the OOP is quite good news for Gilles, I'm just wondering why Simon-Djokovic is the day session match and Gasquet-Ferrer the night session. Nole also is the last big name remaining in the draw, so I'd expect them to accommodate his wishes and I can't believe he prefers to play in the heat against Gilles?

Re: 2009 Chameleon Hardcourt Season Thread: Dubai

It is a mystery Fran. I can't fully understand it myself because, as you say, Nole is the main draw left so surely they'd put him in the evening session when the stadium will be full

Maybe it has something to do with it being in Dubai. Friday in Islam is sort of like Sunday in Christianity, no? I am pretty sure Friday afternoon/evening is when many people go to mosque for prayer and connecting with the community.

Oh so you're saying the crowds would be more likely to come in the early afternoon rather than the evening? You could have a point there actually Ana

That is bizarre. The heat always seems to be giving Nole troubles. Nice theory though Eimear and Autumn
