And Tulasne says they've already sent the FFT physio to Murray to take care of him, to give him all the massages he wants, etc.
That is so heartwarming to read , I'm really happy for Gilles for his first appearance in the TMC.

Re: Indoor season 2008

Of course he will try to win if he gets a decent chance to do so without exhausting himself too much, and I'm not expecting Andy to look as disinterested as Nole in the 3rd, but the situation is still completely twisted if it's a close match (and it probably will be, that's Fed we're talking about).

Andy plays his semi-final tomorrow already, he would be crazy to put up a hell of an effort tonight just to kick Fed out of the tournament (since that's his only motivation to win imo, ranking points, money and h2h stats are not a factor for Andy). Unless Fed is really, really crap today, it takes a big effort to beat him, for Muzza too.
And even if he'd like to win, Andy just won't have the same adrenaline rush and the same energy as if he had to save his life in this tournament.

I need to leave in like 5 minutes, but I just wanted to wish Gilles good luck.

Time for little Poussin to whip out a can of whoopass on "Sexy."

Re: Indoor season 2008

OF COURSE Andy will try against Fed, for one thing I'm sure he'd rather be playing Gilles in the final rather than Rog! And he's too competitive not to try and "rip him a new one" as it was so delightfully put on GM!

Re: Indoor season 2008

His interview after the result:
http://www.fft.fr/action/masters-cup/?id=4355
He sounds pleased with his own match, he was motivated (to improve his ranking, win a 2nd match and take his revenge for RG), so he played a very good match all in all in his opinion.
"So far, everything was fine. But things became tougher then..."
He watched the first 2 sets in Qi Zhong and left for the 3rd set because it was so late already. It was a huge match, Fed really was very good in the 1st set. It was exactly what he didn't want to happen: a never-ending rollercoaster match.
When he arrived at the hotel, Andy had already missed 5-6 MP. He was told the good news in the hotel lift by a friend of Novak who was getting the news on his cell phone.
"How do you feel for this semi-final? Like a miraculous survivor?"
He answers it would have hurt not to qualify despite of his 2 RR wins. There are very few possibilities for that to happen after having won 2 matches - and it almost happened. After what happened in Bercy and the "black days" he went through there, it would have been tough. "It would have been a bit much." He's glad to be able to defend his chance himself.
He knows Nole very well, he has no weaknesses in his game. He's attacking a bit more now than at the beginning of the season, which means he sometimes is less consistent from the baseline. But he's very dangerous. Very strong on big points. And he looks like he has recovered the desire to play lately.
But it's a TMC semi-final, Gilles doesn't want to waste this chance.

Thank you Murray. Now Gilles, no-one I'd rather see you beat than Djokovic. Come on!
