Re: Indoor season 2008

Great news for Gilles of course, but it's still weird to rejoice at the withdrawal of another competitor.

Sorry Nadal. But.

Ok, I'll shut up now.

Sad for Nadal. Especially as he's the no.1 and it will just not be the same without him. But well no one can argue with the fact that Gilles belongs there after this year.

Well thats lucky, Venus got in the WTA YEC because Maria withdrew and now Gilles in because of Nadal. Finally some luck for my players! ALLEZ GILLES!

Re: Indoor season 2008

It's all Federer's fault. If he hadn't withdrawn in Paris we might not have had Black Friday in which case we wouldn't be rejoicing over the withdrawal of another competitor now!

Re: Indoor season 2008

^Thats exactly what I was thinking.

But I just read the thread in GM and found out it wasn't even an injury! I don't see why I should be sad for Nadal then.

Anyway, im glad both Gilles and JWT made the TMC. Can't wait.

this is gonna be the best 2 weeks EVER. Starting TOMORROW!

Re: Indoor season 2008

There's really no reason to be sad for Rafa. While this might get me some grief, I don't think he's hurt all that badly. He probably is just tired from the long season and wants to focus on DC.

I'll make my prediction now... the TMC final: Simon def. Tsonga 7-5 in the third.

Le Poussin! Faithfully ignoring the haters since 1995.

Le Poulailler de Poussin! (Simontarded.)

Ron Paul for President 2012!

According to a thread in GM, they made it best of three this year.

But I want Novak to reach the final, since he's my favorite

Then again this is Gilles' forum, so carry on . I can't wait to watch the games on tv

I like Nole, too, but I'm less than pleased with his attitude lately.

Re: Indoor season 2008

The article in L'Equipe suggests Rafa probably is more injured than the Nadal camp is saying.
I don't like either he needs a withdrawal, and it feels a bit embarrassing the world number 1 is withdrawing and being replaced by Gilles Simon, I'm well aware it's a major bummer for the tournament. ^^
Gilles keeps saying he doesn't like it either ("ça fait ch... pour lui"). We know since Madrid at least how much he loves Rafa!

He means that the goal is to manage to qualify for the semi-finals (that's the minimum, Gilles!!) And he doesn't want to be in Jo's group. But he's glad Jo will be there too since they're both "novices".

They also write that Delpo is leaving for Shanghai today, although the docs said he actually needs to rest 2 weeks, but I guess he wants to experience his first TMC, which I totally understand.

Re: Indoor season 2008

I just took a look at the TMC website (when does the draw take place?) and saw that nice little reminder in Gilles' profile:
"After winning back-to-back matches just three times in the first four months of the season, the 23 year old claimed his first title of the season at Casablanca..."

Re: Indoor season 2008

I've just read on L'Equipe website this morning the last and only time there were two frenchmen at the masters cup (Noah & Leconte 1986), they didn't win a single match!

Gilles & Jo simply can't do worst. ^_^
