Re: Hardcourt season 2008

Oh my God, I just saw the stats, the BP conversion: 0/8!

The match didn't go his way. He had a lot of chances in the 1st set, certainly more than Blake [Blake had indeed only 5 BP in the whole match, but he had actually more BP in the 1st set if the stats are correct...]. And still, he lost the set 6-4. The 2nd set was a bit more complicated. It went very fast, he was frustrated and had a bad patch. He managed to regroup at the end, but it was too late. He has the feeling the match could have taken another turn, especially in the 1st set. So he has a lot of regrets for this match. The problem was not his level of game because he had enough chances. He just didn't convert any.

And in his audio interview, he says again he doesn't regret at all the experience. He's happy he could play at least 3 matches. His big regret is that he won't get to play Federer again, he was feeling well and really wanted to face him again.

Re: Hardcourt season 2008

I hate when Blake and Federer play each other. Boring match !

Gillou can be proud of his tournament anyway, he won the matches he had to win !!
Now, the big goal is to reach the fourth round of the US Open.

Slowly but surely !!

Allez Simon, you rock

Re: Hardcourt season 2008

I really thought Gilles was going to win this time.

I guess I just don't give Blake credit because I dislike him and his game. But there's no denying he likes to beat up on counter-punchers I love, Nadal and now Gilles. Rafa figured Blake out, it's only a matter of time for Gilles to do the same.

On to NY!

PS: Watching Blake play Federer is torture. It should be in the English dictionary next to the word smarmy.

Re: Hardcourt season 2008

He has a good draw for the USO. Granollers in the 1st round, Berrer-Chucho in the 2nd round.

Re: Hardcourt season 2008

Good draw IMO. As well as Del Potro has been playing he hasn't played many players of Gilles' class and Gilles should be able to come through that match. IMO.

Allez!

juan is a very nice, soft spoken young man. Not that I don't like him but his Cinderella run has to end somewhere. I rather see Simon advance than him. Allez!
