Re: Clay season 2008

Great win for Gilles

I'm sure he's sad, but he'll take it.

His section is tough in RG, but it could be worse I guess.

Le Poussin! Faithfully ignoring the haters since 1995.

Le Poulailler de Poussin! (Simontarded.)

Ron Paul for President 2012!

Re: Clay season 2008

He better beat Benneteau for me first - I was annoyed enough when he lost to him last time, I won't take 2 defeats in a row!

Well, the question is : Has Stepanek fully recovered ? Because if he hasn't..

Re: Clay season 2008

Why did he withdraw from Hamburg, btw? Is he injured?

Gilles tends to struggle when he has easy opponents in first rounds of Grand Slams, like Reynolds or Hernandez, maybe Stepanek isn't so bad for him, he's dangerous (so he'll just have to play his best tennis right from the beginning, without thinking too much), but beatable for him on clay.
(C'est un peu de la méthode Coué, mais bon...)

la méthode seCoué ouais HE SOOO has to be pushed to the limits, he has !! Many players have this tendency though... Now, with his game, my question is : can he go far in GSs? He drains the energy out of his opponents, ok, but after a couple of matches he himselfs begins to be exhausted. It's ok for minor tournaments.. I soo wish he could go second week this year though.

I thought he had a stomach bug or food poisoning.

Stepanek could well be a problem. But lots of players find it hard to play Gillou for the first time.

Tomorrow's OOP:

Court Central

Match starts at 2.00 pm

Gilles Simon vs Julien Benneteau

And if he wins today, I think he will reach his best ranking ever.
(Judio has already updated the thread for the time after RG, but I remember Gilles had almost as many points as the players #28 and #29 when I checked the thread yesterday, so he should go past them with a win?)
