Re: Dust your shoulders off! Grass season 2012 Thread

I predicted a possible first round upset and I'm so glad I was right!

I dont mind saying I actually shed a tear when he won - it's been a long time coming and he deserved it.

His play was outstanding today - the service games were virtually impeccable and to hold his nerve on the tiebreaks was such an achievement.

His humour in the post match interview was great too

Very well done Ernests and best of luck for the next match

I'm still on cloud 9...but John McEnroe did make a good point today. Without the points from LA, Ernests' ranking will be easily out of Top 150.

Re: Dust your shoulders off! Grass season 2012 Thread

what a match, what a serve, everything that he played was excellent...so nice to see him happy, he is so sweet
It's nice for a change to read nice comments on GM about Ernie
I'm so happy, I think that real Gulbis, dangerous Gulbis is back
I was afraid that he will not give up after two missed match points, glad that he find the way to win match in 3 sets...
He play Janowicz next, after this win today Ernie is favorite, but we will see...hope that he can continue to play like today.
I love this man

Wow, I was just happy to watch Ernests play after so much time, and to watch two hot guys on the same court. I didn't expect him to win, I was just hoping to see for myself where his game is at .

Big win for Ernie, so proud of him .

Oh, that match made my day! He stayed focused! I knew he could beat Berdy, I said it when I saw the draw.

Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far you can go.

Re: Dust your shoulders off! Grass season 2012 Thread

I wanted to celebrate the win overnight before I came to post,I wouldn't have made sense if I'd posted yesterday

Ernests was just amazing, his serving and focus were particularly brilliant He just went for everything and almost everything paid off. For me the quality of his display yesterday even surpasses his match at US Open 2007 against Robredo.

Fantastic effort,it was wonderful to see the sheer joy from his team in the players box afterwards too. Malacis Ernests!

I don't hate Gulbis, he's just not my No 1 any more, Peace Out

Re: Dust your shoulders off! Grass season 2012 Thread

hopefully he can get some revenge on jerzy

if he can make a 3rd or 4th round here that should balance out the point loss from LA

He's committed to clay events right up until Olympics in case he gets an invite for Olympics. It's easier to stay in Europe. And he probably committed to Kitzbuhel because he's been working with Austrian coach Gunter Bresnik. It's such a shame LA comes right the week before Olympics,I am sure Ernests would have gone to LA to try and defend his title otherwise.

I read somewhere the decision on wildcard invitations are going to be made this week,on Thursday I think.

I don't know if that's all the entries, but it's not looking hopeful...
