Re: Dust your shoulders off! Grass season 2012 Thread

I've seen some video clips where he is exercising with Novotny, but it was only in the gym, is he working on athletic part with him too, Novotny is characterised as more of a physioterapist... Ernests seems a bit slower these days, he doesn't prepare well for his shots, he lacks some small steps before he hits, and his knees aren't bending enough, I don't know if that is in his head, could be though...

Well I would think those athletic aspects you mentioned would fall under a regular coach. I always thought that was part of their job to work on foot work, setting up shots, timing, etc. So I think with a coach & physical trainer like Novotny..that would be considered a full team.

Yeah, like I said a coach & physical trainer are usually considered a complete team. I've only watched him practice his coaches before a matche so I am unable to know any other routines/practices they do in between tournaments and when getting ready for the season. I'm sure they do a lot of different things to prepare him! However, if you are curious about some of the work Novotny does then you can easily go on his Facebook page and watch his videos.
There is a Novotny video of Karlis & Ernests doing a movement type drill together that was taken during the off season in Florida last year. I can't seem to find the video but if I do I'll post it here. (Or one of the other fans might have it saved) I'm sure it's in the video thread somewhere!
He has a lot of professionals around him so I put my trust into them! We have started to see some change in him already and I'm sure once his coaching situation gets settled we will continue to see growth and improvement!

I look forward to his grass season! I hope he can improve his ranking there & at the start of the hard court season! (Specially since I want to be sure he is at Cincinnati)

Re: Dust your shoulders off! Grass season 2012 Thread

Anyone know the weather forecast for London this week? When I looked at the map for Paris, I looked also at London and it looks like a big cluster of rain.

Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far you can go.

This forum is so dead Ernests needs to get some wins to bring it back to life. His match against Bolelli should take place today if it doesn't rain.

It bothers me how dead this place has been. For years this thread was like my family! We were all so close & would communicate even when he wasn't playing. It's a shame things aren't the same anymore!

Re: Dust your shoulders off! Grass season 2012 Thread

I was at queen's club today and yesterday!!! My first time I've met Ernests!!!
His first match was supposed to be yesterday but all day schedule was cancelled as was raining all day!!! I was waiting all day for a start like all the players and when the day was cancelled they started to leave the venue. I've met Michal first, he was soooo kind and very friendly to have a conversation. I even told him to keep going with the updates via twitter....like he did today ahahha. Ernests came later with his friend Nikita? (i'm not so sure about the name!!) He was really nice, I told him I was there for his match and he said he was sorry and I should have wait until the day after. He was leaving and I wanted to bother him to much...he signed my agenda and went away!
Today was a total Ernests day!!!!! I went to his practice before the match.....just half an hour with Budka. It was so cool seeing him so close...he hit the ball so clearly!!!! He recognized me going back to the player lounge, said hi each other and see you later at the match! Some kids asked him to sign their balls so I took very close up pics!!!

I don't think he played bad, but maybe I was no so focus on the game ihihihih.....his forehead was often too long but he was focus and fighting until the end..... he was very upset imo....he was looking at michal asking what can i do, why always like this, i don't wanna lose....
I think he is in shape, he just need some wins and confidence!!

I met them again at the car park and he was on the phone all the time and very upset, even a little bit angry. I didn't want to bother him anymore and he went away!!!

Well, I was very very happy to see him LIVE for the first time, to attend at one of his practice and heard his voice during a match and everything!!!
I appreciate him even more if possible!!!! Of course i'm sad for his lost, sad because he is not happy!!!! But i'm sure this bad moment will finish soon!!

I will upload my pics on my facebook tomorrow and some of them here as well...they are too many!!!

Re: Dust your shoulders off! Grass season 2012 Thread

hi everyone
I told myself i will not post anything until he won a match, but this is stupid and can't resist anymore
I avoided MTF some time...I didn't want to read ugly comments about the tennis players which I follow...so I took a break
I'm glad you saw him live and talked with him...I only saw him, don't have opportunity to talk with him...but that was enough
