Re: Ernests in Summer 2011 - The Tournament Thread

I really don't know what to think about these many defeats... I guess it's mostly because he doesn't have a coach. Remember how he did in 2009 while he was coachless? He didn't get past the second round anywhere so honestly I expect another first round defeat at Wimbledon. And the draw doesn't even matter, he's lost to Kavcic, Becker, Chardy, Benneteau, Monaco in GS first rounds... I hope a new coach can help him turn it all around (like Gumy did) but until then I'm expecting the worst

I'll be super glad if he proves me wrong.

That's my question to him too. He doesn't like to travel so he doesn't play many tournaments.
Don't pro tennis players travel a lot???

It's not about to travel imo, I'm sure he is training hard in London, like always and it's ok, but after his latest results he should play more....to be into "matches levels"....I know every players have their schedules and maybe he can't ask for WC anymore...I just want him to back to his real level!!

Re: Ernests in Summer 2011 - The Tournament Thread

Most players don't play in the week before a Grand Slam, except maybe AO. So it's just a normal schedule, nothing to worry about.

You're not the only one who loves them both. But considering the fact they will be on a random court and one of them will go home when we can't see it, I don't like it so much

Re: Ernests in Summer 2011 - The Tournament Thread

He's not got too bad a draw tbh, but I'm not holding out any hope for him winning anything. I've learnt my lesson. Better to be shocked and surprised when he wins than disappointed when he loses.

Re: Ernests in Summer 2011 - The Tournament Thread

Why is it that when he plays against Dima we are not allowed to watch? Dima won the last time they played. I remember I had tweeted Dima before the match telling him to fill us in since it wasn't going to be streamed and after the match he tweeted "My condolences to anyone with a Latvian flag in their twitpic" *points to self*

I really love Dima so it's sad that they play each other first round in a Slam, however I of course really hope Ernests is able to win! *crosses fingers*

Probably the best attitude.

Is it really outwith the realms of possibility that he might make it past round one?

I really hope he does - good luck to him

Re: Ernests in Summer 2011 - The Tournament Thread

Good Luck Ernests - hoping he gives it his all - Dima is in top form coming off the back of a title win...so don't be too surprised if he doesn't win...again....I just hope he doesn't have to wait as long as Dima until he wins a GS Match...SARAUJ ERNESTS!!!
