Re: Ernests' news thread!

I am not going to say anything about the draw It would be a good draw for me, but you never know... No pressure, Ernie

"Sometimes you are embarrassed by how you are playing. Sometimes you want to be there, sometimes you want to go home. Sometimes you are fighting hard and sometimes you are fighting yourself." - Ernests Gulbis

To conquer oneself is a greater victory than to conquer thousands in a battle - Buddha

Re: Ernests' news thread!

I'm grateful for the draw, no top seeds in the first 2 rounds and Blake in the 3rd, thank you tennis God. Hope Erno makes the best of it.

Re: Ernests' news thread!

thanks!! good to read this:

"It wasn’t that Montanes was poor; Gulbis was simply too good despite being ranked nine places below his Spanish opponent at No. 51."

I was fearing Montañes wasn't playing well at all, but this sounds so good in my ears right now

Re: Ernests' news thread!

Ernie was playing well by his standards - bashing everything as usual. He didn't chuck any racquet (definitely a plus) but he wasn't in God-like mode either. Encouraging stuff, but nothing to trumpet about.

thanks for your point of view! it's hard to get an idea of how he was playing, if you haven't seen the match...

Thanks Z! I was waiting for your comment about his match. You can never tell how he actually played by articles and such... because no journalist probably knows him so well to be able to give a really objective opinion.
Anyway encouraging, indeed as you said. But it doesnt mean anything, given our swinging Erno.

Were you really going back and forth between this match and Mannarino's one? Im sorry he lost...

Re: Ernests' news thread!

Ernie and the WTA girls on his court before that were kind enough to gallop through their matches in double-quick time, so I managed to catch the whole of the Mannarino match after all
