Re: Riga Mortis: General Latvian tennis talk

Before anyone whinges that it is not mens well, the title says GENERAL LATVIAN TENNIS TALK...so too bad

I was just going to say that Ana Sevastova, a latvian female has amde it to the Semi's of Monterrey in Mexico. She had to beat Jelena Jankovic in the first round so she has gone through a lot She is currently ranked 72 in the world but will be rising after this performance. She is turning 20 this year, so i hope it can be a good year for her as it was for erno when he turned 20!!

The other semifinal will be between third-seeded Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and unseeded Latvian Anastasija Sevastova.

Pavlyuchenkova beat Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic 6-2, 6-2 in the most comfortable of the quarterfinals, while Sevastova overcame France's Alize Cornet 2-6, 7-5, 6-1.

Feel free to discuss Sevastova there http://www.tennisforum.com/showthrea...299304&page=16

and of course she isn't Ana, she is Anastasija or Nastja

I personally don't mind discussing Sevastova here, but whatever. Beats having to log into TWATworld anytime.

Re: Riga Mortis: General Latvian tennis talk

It says Latvian tennis talk it doesn't specify mens or womens. Seen as Z actually created the thread and she thinks it is okay, i am sure it is fine. Ana is easier for me. I should have known you would have a dig at me. How would you know what nick names she likes/doesn't like? It can be for short.

Re: Riga Mortis: General Latvian tennis talk

Some sad news of Andis in FranceF5 tournament. In his 2nd round he had beaten 6th seed Yannick Mertens of Belgium,in an amazing match- saving matchpoints 6-7(5)7-6(6) 7-6(6) His terrific effort didn't pay off,he had to pull out of his quarter-final trailing Charles Brezac of France 3-6 0-1. Reason - shoulder injury

It also meant he couldn't play his doubles semi with Denis Matsukevitch

Cheering for Nole Gilles Tomas Domi Stan Roger Sascha Struffi
Jamie Murray No 1 - AO Doubles Champ 2016 - congrats!
Thanks for the memories Juan Carlos
