Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

thz for d thread, its nice to see another italian player on d rise to d top, n he has great character too!
he hav a beautiful single-handed backhand, but would like to see him be a more all rounded player, he already hav a great baseline game, would be even better if he can improve his game at d net.

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

filippo's on fire, he's doing very well in Palermo winning 2 singles matches in one day. The Italian has recently added speed and power to his serve.

Volandri: "I really wanted to do well this week, as we play in Italy and it is the last clay court event of the year. I am very pleased with the way I played today, especially against Robredo this morning. I continued to serve well and get a lot of free points. I have never served better in my career.”

win the title fili!

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

Pipo lost to Gael 6-3 6-4. It sucks but he really fought hard in the 2nd set. Great week Pipo!!! Keep it up on hardcourts this year!!!

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

This week Filo will be playing in the Heineken Open. His first round opponent is Goldy, they've never played before. This could be a tough one cause Goldy is a pretty good hardcourt player. I think Filo should be able to get passed him tho.

Good Luck in Auckland Filo!!!!!!!!

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

It's a shame Filo had to retire during his first round match against Goldy. Hopefully he'll get some rest and be ready for the AO. Get well soon Filo

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

Filo has a pretty good draw for the AO. He plays Nathan Healey in the 1st round. The crowd will be behind Healey but he's an aussie journeymen. Hopefully Filo is feeling better and gets through this one. If all goes well Filo will play Davey in the 3rd round. Filo already has a win over Davey this year on hardcourt.

Good Luck Filo!!!!!!!!

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

Sad Sad news Filo had to withdraw against Healey at the AO. I hope it's nothing serious he's withdrawn from his last two matches. It's such bad luck after having such a good week in Doha.

Filo is out of Vina del Mar. I guess he's still recovering and I hope he gets well soon.

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

Thanks for the pics kat, very nice ones. I like his hair a lot more like this without any product and all flat in the front. Nice to see someone else in here.

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

Yes Volandri is unlucky with injuries. Always injured after a good run.

Anyway hopefully he will come back strnger than ever, but its a shame, he will lose some points from vine del mar because he got to the semi last year. Hopefully he can be back for the next tournament.

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

Does anyone know if Filo is going to play Buenos Aires? He's on the entry list but I haven't heard if he's still injured.

So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.
