Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

I'm worried that he's going to keep on falling down the rankings esp since the clay court season is almost over.

So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

I hope after the French he plays a couple of challengers. They are good for him to get confidence back and he can win them so good for ranking points. After the French he has only 1 final (sicily) and 1 SF (umag) to defend so in a way he has a chance to make up some points.

I just hope that like I said, he reaches 3rd round for French so that way he keeps more or less top 50 position.

1 clay challenger to gain some more points before Wimbledon would be good. Then at Wimbledon he has no pressure or rankings because he exited first round last year so he can maybe just go for broke and make round two with an easy draw.

For now this is just a dip. Filo can get better and even if it isnt before the French. He may surprise us on the Hard.

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

Filo plays Kiefer tomorrow.

Nice match for Filo this should be. A win would be great confidence for him, but even if he loses, as long as he gives a good match without injury or fatigue.

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

For tomorrow's match Volandri has the upper hand on Kiefer.

He is 2-0 already. Winning in the Australian Open in 4 and beating Kiefer in Rome in the 3rd set. Both matches in 04.

but now Kiefer is number 11 of the world so its quite different. Should be a nice match.

That's a shame!! I wonder what's going on in his head this year.

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

Today he plays Nalbandian too, another lost on the way I predict. I dont even care for the win, just keep it tight, but I wouldnt blame him today, he wouldnt want to risk too much energy before the French in a meaningless match.

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

Great news.... great win for Filo 64 75 over Nalbandian. I am surprised really, I saw about 5 games from the match and Filo was looking good. I think this win can give him some confidence again for RG. Nalbandian didnt look so bothered though and I wont go OTT about this win, but I am still pleased and now hope for a pleasant draw in RG.

Re: The Filippo Volandri cheering thread

A win is a win even if David didn't seem into it. Filo def needs anything he can get right now.

Agreed the win is so important. I hope it gives him confidence. I will say one fault, Filo his hitting the ball a bit further back in the court at times and maybe can step up a little like he used to, but some of that was due to Nalbandian's power, Filo held up well though deep in court and powered back.

Next is the draw tomorrow, I will update you guys, we wish for the best draw possible
