Re: On the beloved red clay finally! Monte-Carlo: Mahut First

Mahut is his fist round match. He should be able to win that one but Murray or Lopez will be awaiting him in the second round. Seems to be a pretty decent draw.

6-2 6-3 over Mahut

Murray is next as expected, but I think Filippo can win.

Expected win in a comfortable way.
though a little bit up and down in 2nd set, he can still hold off error-prone Mahut.

some great volley and backhand crosscourt passing shot is beautiful as usual.

good luck next round

very easy victory but also because Nico played very bad (how many volèe he failed?).
The next is a very tough match but Pippo has to believe in his chance to win, he can!

Murray was in fantastic form before that injury and I think Filippo had been injured a week or two before Hamburg, right?

This time it should be close.

no no, Murray was coming from an injury already, played Rome but lost quickly and then got injured again in Hamburg

Volandri made SF of Rome before Hamburg so I dont think he was injured

to beat Murray Filo has to be more patient then like he's usually on court. The scottish is a great player but sometimes too much defensive and so Volandri has to try to force Murray distant from the baseline with crosscourt topspin deep shots and then accelerate on the other side of the court...without fear to play a volèe because he can play this shot better then he beliaves

but fundamental is his first serve percent because you know the return (expecially with his forehand in fact sometimes he use to do c&charge also returning) is one of the best shot of the scottish player

Re: On the beloved red clay finally! Monte-Carlo: Murray in 2r

he has an interview on sportmediaset.it

http://www.sportmediaset.it/altrispo...vista+volandri

he wants to prepare well for the Rome tournament and needs to play as many matches as possible before that
He thinks he has a good chance against murray and thinks that if the game goes to the distance he's favoured
He isnt feeling pain but the problem still exists
