Good news for Marin. Needs to make the round of 16 at least.

my favorite was the worst number 3 player in the world

I just hope that he avoids Djokovic and Nishikori, all others are welcome and he has good chance.

He can't play Nishikori, they are in same pot. Why not Djokovic? Marin can beat anybody now. But, yeah it would be great to avoid Djokovic and Nadal. Wawrinka, Ferrer, Berdcyh or Gasquet would be good choice. He is better player of all of them now.

Re: Marin's start of 2014 season

R1: bye
R2: Careno Busta or qualifer
R3: Robredo, Klahn or Matosevic
R4: Djokovic, Dodig, Gonzalez, Mannarino, Hanescu or qualifier

Good draw 'till R4 but then Djokovic...however, with this form it's winable.

Careno Busta and Boredo could be challenging if the courts are slow.
Djoko with a cakewalk to R4

my favorite was the worst number 3 player in the world

If he beats Novak then sky is the limit. Djokovic knows how to play Marin, this is not an easy draw, Miami is where's at.

I have feeling Dodig could win over Novak.

Re: Marin's start of 2014 season

The next match is most critical. Should Cilic manage to somehow beat Djokovic he'll be the favorite for the SF slot (over Lopez/Kukushkin/Thiem/Benneteau) and, in my opinion, the second or third favorite for the final (after Gasquet/Dimitrov--though Gasquet is one set down against Verdasco).

Cilic is better player than any except Djokovic. And he can beat him, too. Especially cause Djokovic isn't in good form.

Yea, this win would really open the doors of the SF with a 50 50 match if he would play Gulbis there. But it all depends on Djokovic, if he raises his level to his standard there's nothing Cilic can do to match it unfortunately.

Re: Marin's start of 2014 season

if novak raises his level than he'll win. However if novak plays the way he did in the 2nd set today than marin will have his chances

marin took down andy earlier this year in straights so I like to believe that he can defeat a poor form novak as well
