Do I need to say he wasted one or 2 set points?

Re: Second half of season 2012.

It's nothing new that Marin has mental lapses (and that he'll continue to have them.) If he didn't, he would have been in top 8 long ago. What really matters is that he is able to move on and win vs getting upset and losing the match. There's nothing one can do but be patient and enjoy his game when he's having a good day.

Yes, I enjoed alot in his game in Umag's semis and final. I have watched that live and it was really great. I was really happy and satisfied. And I said I will give him a credit because of that 2 matches.

BUT he is the only player in the world who can't win one of 5 set points after he won 15 out of 16 matches. And after he lost that set, he colapsed, like always, in the 2nd set. He almost did it same yesterday, wasted 8 set points.

Actually he played good match yesterday. Only 12 UE's/26 winners (14 forehand, 4 backend, 8 service winners), Melzer had 15/15.

Re: Second half of season 2012.

After that first set vs haas it was clear that "bad old" Cilic is back.

Re: Second half of season 2012.

Roger's cup is his chance to get #12 seed for US open. I don't think any of the top players are going to play it and if Berdych is on the other side of the draw I don't see who can trouble him much. If he gets there tomorrow he has until Tues/wed to adjust, have few practices and relax.

I don't see why he shouldn't. He's still on the list. I hope he leaves tomorrow, that would give him enough time to prepare.

Re: Second half of season 2012.

He is back to his normal results: 1st or 2nd on Masters, some 4th round on Slams and titles or finals on MM tournaments, enough to more than average 20th place in the World.

These are pictures I took of Cilic on the practice court in Toronto, Aug 4:

Re: Second half of season 2012.

I saw on his face he is so stressed in days after he lost vs Hewitt. That's obvious on this pictures too. Believe me, he will go out very early.
However, if he regains his form he has good shot for quaters (1st round free, 2nd round probably Baghdatis, 3rd round probably Tipsarevic).

If he wants 12th seed place for a Olympics, as first Rafa or somebody else needs to pull out, he needs to make a quaters and Simon should loose in 2nd round (Haas or Nalbandian). In that cas they would be equal but Simon would need to defend quaters from Cincy while Cilic has nothing to defend from that tournament. So, Simon needs to defend 190 ps and Cilic 100 ps overall. Simon is 5 points infront.

If he would win this, which is mission immpossible for such a choker, he would be back in top 10 (he would be 10th).

your so pessimistic. You should try and lighten up on him a bit. I think you have more expectation on him then he does himself

Yeah, I have. Because based on his talent he should be top 10 regular, while he is nowhere near because he is mental midget. And that's make me very angry, because he is head-case. Goran was a head-case too, but he was big player, one of the very top in his time, while this is so average.

Re: Second half of season 2012.

Baggy is a bit tricky as he needs money to pay for the wedding. Otherwise not a bad draw, he can do a lot here. I don't see his nemesis Delpo and Tsonga going far due to Olympics, if they show up at all.
