Re: Week 1: Sao Paulo, Brazil

No problem Nathii. Are you sure the event has been downgraded? On the ATP site it says $100,000+H. (http://www.atptennis.com/en/tourname...engers2007.pdf)

I don't think the prize money makes that much of a difference in the field anyway, most players are South Americans and are there because of the location. Well, the high prize money and points are obviously better for the ones who come and take advantage.

I felt suggested by the discussion in the overview 2007 thread. I read it was reduced to 50.000$

Indeed some Southies don't really feel like going Down Under and prefer playing challengers here. The prize is relevant for sure for Saretta who's defending points!

EDIT - INDEED THERE'S WRITTEN 100.000$ SO PERHAPS THEY"RE RIGHT

I am 100% sure it read $50K+H before. But the field was already not worthy of a $100K+H and it still isn't

Re: Week 1: Sao Paulo, Brazil

Yeah I had seen $50,000+H on the Steve G site too, perhaps in the last few weeks they managed to get a powerful sponsor that secured the maintenance of the prize.

I agree, they shouldn't bother with the prize, it seems like they are giving money away the way it is now. But like I said, at least it helps the Brazilian players in terms of ranking (and money).

Yes, I hope they give Simoni a WC and that he can do as well or better than last year

Forza Fabio

I suck at TT so there's no reason to brag with my 1st round exits :retard:
And I adore Radiohead
