Hey Martin, you saw this match-up at Roehampton didn't you?
Well I certainly saw it and what a contrast it was. On the one hand you had Golubev who was always shouting and complaining towards the umpire and his coach and on the other hand you had Wang who was totally cool and quiet.
Very close match but like all Russians I think Golubev just doesn't like playing on grass. He's probably a very good fast court player on hard and indoor courts but he gets so easily worked up and frustrated. He's like an extreme version of Marat Safin.
When Safin was as old as Golubev is now he was on a completely different level already, but then again times change and nowadays it's way harder to peak at a younger age.
He's surely getting awesome results lately, and I'm looking forward to see what he'll do from now on. Starting from this final; grass was favorable to Wang, we'll see how it pans out on a different surface.
