Yea, only I don't think Roger would want to put himself in the position of losing on grass to rafa... even if rafa's half is clay

Still, should be a lot of fun to see.

Maybe they could completely swap outfits at the changes of ends too - that would certainly significantly add to my interest levels

It took you all the way to page 3 for that- I was getting worried for a minute.

I don't know how it will all pan out, but you can't accuse them of being unoriginal.

Well, he probably waited for J'torian to post something like that, but since he didn't, he had to do it in his place.

Looking at the photo it looks like the court is being divided lenghtwise, so each side of the court would be half-clay, half-grass. Imagine the injury risk, the player is going to slide on the clay and finish the movement on grass.

Don't let Etienne hear about this. I see a horrible idea for a Masters . . .

Absolutely - I'm the back-up. I respond only if the chief smutmeister fails to respond to the call to the colours

Re: Battle of the Surfaces: Rafa-Roger Exhibition in Palma

I highly doubt it'll happen, but it'd be great.

They should put their records on the line to make it more competitive. Rafa's unbeaten clay court record or Federer's unbeaten grass court record must go

Re: Battle of the Surfaces: Rafa-Roger Exhibition in Palma

Hopefully some journalist would pick up on the story and ask Roger or Rafa something about it in the upcoming tournament.

If it's true - we'd know. If it's not true, I'd love to hear their reaction to the concept.

The process of swapping outfits would definitely be interesting but the idea of Roger in piratas, a sleeveless shirt and a do-rag...

Meanwhile, this is looking increasingly likely, with all major Spanish newspapers reporting the news.
