Arrow Abu Dhabi SF: Nadal def. Raonic 6-1 3-6 6-3

Nadal way ahead of schedule as he marches to slam #15!

That breakpoint Nadal won in the 3rd set was hilarious, incredibly impossible ball for Raonic to get after it danced off the net.

When the ball kid was crawling on the court and wiping the Abu Dhabi logo in front of Nadal, that looked royally awesome, a bit of slave action.

Throughout this match I was thoroughly impressed with Raonic's emotion and personality that he doesn't usually display. Lots of reactions to each situation, very emotionally invested, and maybe his new coach has promoted this.

Yeah! Another great match from RAFA! A little slump in the 2nd, but generally it's ok.

RAFA is LOVE! RAFA is LIFE!

Rafa might even beat Goffin tomorrow to once again win Abu Dhabi, but it'll likely be the only Non-Clay title Rafa wins in 2017!

Nadal may win a bunch of hardcourt titles this year actually theseth.
Nadal may also win a grasscourt title, as he did in 2015.
I think Nadal was the best player at the 2016 Olympics.
Nadal played better than Del Potro in my opinion, and that Nadal-Potro match was the highest quality match of the Olympics.

Yeah. Also RAFA was a TOP 3 at USO'16 and took part in the highest quality match of the tournament. Had RAFA gone through Pouille, I'm sure he would have reached the final.
And I'm happy RAFA will come to Australia earlier than ever and have time to adapt to the climate, which hurted him last 2 years.

15 Slams has been done before.

More importantly, if he wins the final tomorrow he becomes the all-time record title holder in Abu Dhabi.

Coric // Khachanov // Donaldson // Zverev // Bublik
Ferrero // Rafter

Re: Abu Dhabi SF: Nadal def. Raonic 6-1 3-6 6-3

This is the hottest thread on the General Messages forum.
Each time I come to this forum I see my thread at #1.
I guess its a case of giving the people what they want.
Murray fails to do this often, hence his lack of facebook/twitter fans, compared to Nadal's astonishing numbers.

Re: Abu Dhabi SF: Nadal def. Raonic 6-1 3-6 6-3

Good to get through a difficult match. The match resembled the one against Berdych, lightning fast start, then lost his way a bit, only this time the opponent was good enough to take advantage and get the second set. Good for him to steady the ship and pull through.

I would like to see Rafa play as aggressively as in the first 5-6 games for a whole match.

Re: Abu Dhabi SF: Nadal def. Raonic 6-1 3-6 6-3

Keep the Nadal hype coming over an exho. The reactions when reality sinks again when it matters will be funny. It happened last year, so much hype only to get decimated by Djokovic in Doha and lose in R1 at the AO

Still never learn. I mean things can be different this year for all we know but what's the point in hyping him so much when he hasn't done shit for quite some time now. No GS SF since RG 14.

The optimism about Nadal from his fans is astonishing. I understand the joy of having him back, but let's not get over-excited about an exho event where Goffin hit two aces before he beat Murray.
