The Boodles: Goffin def. Djokovic 6-3 7-5

Noooooooo ... not . No h8rz having a field day like last year? Damn those 4 slams must have done some damage.

Novak has mastered all or almost all elements of the game. He is the best in several categories and top 10 in almost all others. He can use any counter-measure (and on a very high level) against the opponent's strong points and is far more skilled in other game elements. If someone is a poor returner, Novak will utilize his serve. If someone relies too much on serve, Novak will demolish him with strong returns. In rallies against opponents who have huge stamina and good defence, he aims for winners. In rallies against ballbashers and redliners, he turns into a brick wall and cannot be punched back. And the beauty of all? He wins all the time.

Simply the greatest master of this game.

It's only an exho - does it matter who wins? Hardly a guide to Wimbledon form, anyway.

Good on Goffin to have beaten peak Djokovic here. This is what would have happened if they had faced in the Roland Garros semis.

MTF games titles:

Suicide Tennis (5): Wimbledon 2014, World Tour Finals 2015, Madrid 2015, Kuala Lumpur 2014 and Metz 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 WTF, 1 Masters 1000, 2 ATP 250; 2 finals lost

Fill-in-the-Draw (5): US Open 2014, Rotterdam 2013, Geneva 2015, Sydney 2016 and Buenos Aires 2016 - 1 Slam, 1 ATP 500 and 3 ATP 250

Tennis Tipping (3): Veneza and Todi 2014 (with vn01), Knoxville 2015 (with Redkop) - 3 challengers; 7 finals lost

Instead of playing exhos Djokovic could just run around in circles on a grass court by himself and it would probably suffice as adequate preparation for Wimbledon.

Also, I'm pleased to see that Djokovic is mastering the art of tactical losses

Crazy to see Djokovic from that position lose 7 games in a row, 2 of which were his own

Good stuff, La Goff!

Now bring it ON in a real match.

He lost a match here last year as well so it's hard to make any conclusions. He still has a blockbuster match against Kyrgios and we will see TBH after his RG victory I feel a kind of meltdown as his fan. He won RG and the grand slam (albeit non-calendar) - everything I dreamt about. I'm completely satisfied now and don't feel the hunger for next tournaments. Maybe Djoko feels something similar?
