The Masters Tennis at The Royal Albert Hall 2005

Hey there I am hoping to go this event and shoot some photos for a few days How many of you will be going to this event?

I havent been before, but I will maybe go 3 days or so! Maybe more If I can afford the 15-20£ travel each day, and take the other days off uni!

Will be nice to attend a tournament, otherwise I will have to wait until june

Seems an easy distance from victoria to south kensington station, Anyone know how close that station is to the royal albert hall?

Re: The Masters Tennis at The Royal Albert Hall 2005

The following players have qualified:
Thomas Muster
John McEnroe
Cedric Pioline
Pat Cash
Jim Courier
Sergi Bruguera

Will be nice to see players like muster and brugera for a young guy like me, who didnt see them during their "normal" playing days I will try to get some nice muster shots for you georgewhitler. I am hoping to have a press pass for this event, we will see how it goes.

Also can have an idea of the other players in the event from looking at the rankings:

Joey, the walk was about 10/15 minutes I think, but it is along a straight road entirely, so very easy & straightforward.
If you don't get the press pass, where will you be sitting dude? Also, I would ignore notices saying don't use flash, as I have been for 3 years consecutively, and only last year did I take my camera, as everyone uses flashes, no-one cared.
It's not like these guys are pros! Will you go to the Henman exhibiton day, or just a doubles day [match 2]?

Jim Thomas - Max Mirnyi - Jordan Kerr - Rohan Bopanna - Andy Roddick - Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi - Ilia Bozoljac - Chris Haggard - Jan-Michael Gambill - Donald Young - Nathan Healey - Lleyton Hewitt - Jamie Murray - Olivier Rochus - James Blake - Vince Spadea - Tim Henman - John Isner - Travis Parrott - Paul Goldstein - Tim Henman - Wes Moodie - Arnaud Clement - Michael Russell - Jeff Coetzee

I have sent in my application, if I dont get a pass I will not be going. Costs are too high! Its about 40£ a seat or something stupid I believe. I applied for all days I think, then ill choose which I will go on. Probably the weds, saturday, sunday or maybe another day. Just hope I can get a pass to be honest, I really enjoy being in the press area taking photos and its been quite a while since I have had the chance to

Although, from the distance you are shooting at and at 300mm or so (the flash isnt gonna have any effect to be honest). May as well just bump the iso up really high.

Re: The Masters Tennis at The Royal Albert Hall 2005

Hey chaps I have a question about the sessions of play! There is one at 1pm, how many matches are usually played in that session (2?). There is also another session at 7.30, how many matches are played in this one? what time does this session normally finish?

I would love to stay for both sessions, but the latest train I could get home is about 12.15 at night, so I may just have to go to the day session.

Thanks buddy! SHIT SHIT!! I had hoped they would put doubles last on court, so I could get my ass out of there early and get some food and then get an early train home instead of the 12.15 train at night

Anyway, I recieved confirmation on my pass. I will be there everyday apart from friday, and possibly at all the night sessions! The only time I wont be there, is the day session on friday because of a uni presentation (and maybe thursday night because I will have to get up early the next money, and cant get home at like 2-3 am).

Anyone esle going?

Looking forward to seeing brugera and muster

Yet the 35-year-old, who retired four years ago, is not likely to play in the tie in Bratislava from 2-4 December.

Croatia captain Nikki Pilic has also picked Ivan Ljubicic, Mario Ancic and Ivo Karlovic in his squad.

Slovakia will be represented by Dominik Hrbaty, Karol Beck, Michal Mertinak and Karol Kucera.

Ivanisevic retired from the men's tour - mainly because of shoulder problems - soon after winning Wimbledon as a wildcard in 2001.

He played doubles in the 2003 Davis Cup against the United States and is active on the veterans' circuit.

The 35-year-old Ivanisevic had qualified for November's Champions Masters at the Royal Albert Hall.

But he has now pulled out because it clashes with the Davis Cup final.

Croatia and Slovakia are first-time Davis Cup finalists.

Both came through last year's play-offs to earn a place in the 2005 World Group.
Was thinking the other day this was gonna happen. Personally, I find him boring as hell to watch. But he is one of the good guys, real entertaining personality.
