Nadal and Berdych triumph at Hurlingham

20 june 2014

http://cache.images.core.optasports....6457header.jpg

Rafael Nadal and Tomas Berdych will head to Wimbledon on the back of victories after triumphing at the BNP Paribas Classic on Friday.

World number one Nadal beat Spanish compatriot Tommy Robredo 7-5 6-3 at the grass-court exhibition event ahead of his bid to take the All England Club title for the third time.

Nadal, who has been drawn to face Martin Klizan in the first round of the year's third grand slam, is seeded second at Wimbledon and has already secured the French Open crown in 2014.

In the only other game at the Hurlingham Club, Berdych - beaten by Nadal in the 2010 Wimbledon final - overcame Japan's Kei Nishikori 4-6 6-3 10-4.

--------------------

It's only an exhibition but it's part of Nadal's preparation... Good win and good practice on the grass, it will make him a little less rusty for the first round at Wimbledon and give him a little mental confidence...

Cool that Berdych also won... I know that it would be cool if they both celebrated together in the locker room... So hot... But let's get back to tennis please...

Rafael Nadal - The Greatest of All-Time

14 grandslams - Olympics Gold - 4 davis cups - 27 masters 1000 - 67 overall titles
Career Golden Grandslam - Most titles at one grandslam - At least 2 slams on each surface
10 consecutive years with a slam title - Slams on clay, grass and hard in same year
3 year end no.1 finishes -141 weeks at no.1
9-2 in slams vs Federer - 9-4 in slams vs Djokovic

One could only imagine what his totals would be if it weren't for his many setbacks/injuries. Truly an icon.

LOL……

I approve this grass warmup. Series of Master chefs like Klizan, GOATsol, Dr.Evo, Kei Samurai are already arranged by "Awesome Draw Makers". I anticipate another "Brown Roast" here, under lightning striking again!!

Vamos RAfa!!!!!!!

And no, he (Murray) is not overrated. He's technically a better grass player than Djokovic is.
Those three titles the Serb give him statistics on the surface than he does, considering he plays the same damn way he does on clay and still wins the title. Slow as fuck grass does that. It's the same for Nadal during 2006-11.
