Djokovic is the overwhelming favorite to win the AO.

Fed's time will come again after US Open 2012 when the big boys finish their season. Just in time for experts to predict his domination again in 2013. Until the 2013 starts again and the big boys return to business.

classic nadal mindgames to start off the season. Don't pay any attention to it.

Re: Djokovic defeats Federer Abu Dhabi SF 6-2 6-1

If Nadal's sensible he'll tank to Ferrer & play his buddy Roger tomorrow - gives the organisers the Fedal match they want & Ferrer/Novak would be a competitive final. Nadal in his current mind frame is clearly not ready to beat Novak (he'd struggle even at his best against the Novak that was on display today) but he's not like Fed & won't switch off against Novak even if it is an exo. It would be a pointless battle he'd end up losing that would be even worse for his confidence. Let Ferru get a chance to win this thing - you never know - the man can run.

Great display from Novak - clearly the favourite for Australia if there was ever any doubt. To judge the whole season from this tournament is tough though - go and look at the Fedal final from last year - I don't think Rafa played as well (hitting consistently deep) most of the rest of the year even if it was just an exo. But the main point is this is a man far removed from what we saw in London - he's rejuvenated and motivated. Australia will be fun with him & Murray both hungry for glory.

Um, I was hoping for a more casual match knowing Djoker's attitude after matches and off court. I was slightly disappointed as I still feel there's a certain distance in terms of him and Fed being on good terms which could have changed here.

What I also noticed was how quickly Novak was playing. New tactic maybe. I hope Nadull wins so we can see another spanking just before the year ends.

I was expecting Novak to play to the gallery too actually, especially given how jovial and fun he was in the match against Monfils yesterday.
This was a disappointing exho really. Federer wasnt trying and Novak just ran over him like it was an important match. But these two have a history, and I dont think Djokovic was impressed with Federer's comments after the US Open semifinal and I guess Novak knew Fed wanted to that this as practice more than anything and decided not to give him that chance

Yea I noticed that, too. And Roger was playing superfast, even faster than usual. A couple of times on second serve he didn't even wait for the ballkid to finish running to his spot and get completely settled.

Looks like I am always right. Fed didn't play anybody the end of last year. That's why he won some MM titles. Look now. The first match against a decent opponent and he gets *****, humiliated and left on court crying. Enough said.

Sounds like a thump. Will it count in the Official H2H?

Who cares if it is official or not. A loss is a loss. A win is a win. Moreover look at the way the match unfolded. It was nothing like 76 76, wasn't it?
