Re: New site look and software upgrade Feedback Thread

Couple of potential changes:

- CREDITS! Why are credits not visible anymore?

- The right bar. It can be turned off while seeing a thread, but it still appears when you are browsing subforums.

(On the top bar)
- Re-introduce the link to vBookie
- Remove the link to Blogs? That's not used much
- Remove the link to Gallery? Last comment there was 6 years ago.
- Surely "Quick Links" should be quickly accessible, and not be two clicks away.

- Colour possibilities

- Make the notifications work better.
Example: Let's say we have a subscribed thread. Then you open that thread from the subforum it is in(as apposed to from your UseCP). Then that thread will no longer appear as containing new unread posts in your UserCP.
Similarly, if you see a thread(in any way), the notifications for new quotes of your post or new mentions in that thread should no longer appear. Right now, notifications stay even if you have seen them directly.

Re: New site look and software upgrade Feedback Thread

What are the reputation stars for? Everyone has 11 stars, with 5 dark ones.

I was told that many features introduced on tennisforum.com would be introduced here with the upgrade.

- Automatic image resizing of huge images(which you can disable if you want) to make threads more readable.
- Vine embedding
- DailyMotion embedding
- Tweet embedding
- A button for youtube tags in the message options.(like the buttons for image tag, quote tag, code tag, etc.)

Just want to say this is the FUGLIEST FORUM LAYOUT EVER!

So harsh on my eyes. White, orange and blue? What was this person smoking? Anyone I'm gonna go back to the normal one if possible!

Haven't browsed TF today yet... I hope it's not that one as well

Re: New site look and software upgrade Feedback Thread

What are (Social Groups)group memberships for? Can you send a broadcast message to everyone in a group?
What are rules for groups? Can anyone in the group add others or only an "admin" of the group? Can the person who started the group make other group "admins"?

------

I have made several posts criticizing and asking for changes, so I'll mention what I like:
- The mention feature
- The notifications on someone quoting your posts
- Better on mobile
- Drag and drop file upload
- Tags
- PMs. I had an unread PM from a year ago, which I wasn't bothered to find buried deep under. Now all unread PMs(even old ones) can be seen quickly.
- Social groups (depending on the answer to the above)

-------------

To all users: In your UserCP, there is an option called "Profile Privacy" on the left.

Re: New site look and software upgrade Feedback Thread

I'm not able to send private messages anymore. I always get a "Database error".

ETA: I also can't seem to get rid of the sidebar, even though I disabled it.

Is it possible to embed tweets?

Don't like the orange colour, it's way too bright and hurts my eyes. Had do switch to classic and it looks OK but I can't remove the sidebar. Anyone?

Re: New site look and software upgrade Feedback Thread

I'm logged in, but still get big ads at the top, right above the message that "Registered Users do not see the above ads".

I miss the button linking to tennisforum. I frequently check this forum for men's tennis news, and then want to go to check women's tennis news.

Re: New site look and software upgrade Feedback Thread

I can't send private message.

Main forum is still in mess, there are few words at the same place, so you can't understand anything. I sent screen last night.

Is it possible to move to old version? This one is useless on PC, phone I use only when I'm away, at home I use only PC, and for sure I wont be looking at 5' screen at home, when I have 17' PC.

I guess I will have to leave MTF unfortunately, like I did with ATP, RG, Wimbledon and other "mobile friendly website". Or maybe should I fucked away my PC, we have new modern mobile XXI century! Master's thesis I will be also writing is some tiny buttons on my tiny smartphone?

Go to hell with such changes. It was GOOD, and you changed it into WORSE.

I wish the menu bar would remain visible as I scroll down through posts. It would make navigation quicker.

Just to add my plea to the others to tone down the bright orange. I have only read the 9 pages of this thread, and already I have a headache!

Re: New site look and software upgrade Feedback Thread

not particularly defending Team MTF,
but orange color might be from technical necessity.

upgrading should be a big operation and ses should be working hard now to correct bugs.
orange might be used to make which one we are on.

in fact, i tried both and found several bugs, perhaps. then i realized this rather unusual orange color helps to be certain which skin i am on. otherwise very confusing.

Team launched upgrading first Tuesday after USOpen. this shows how thoroughly they have prepared the whole scheme. if not now, it might be after the final in London, that is 2 months ahead.

taking the size and timing allowed for the operation, on the fact mostly things are flowing smooth, this is my impression, i would say that the operation seems being successful. what i see is Team still needs a week or so to complete the upgrading.

also it is very good to share our experience, frustrated, accepting, what ever maybe, in this thread and in the other. to me, a newcomer and the one who like MTF itself, including my confusion at this time, this is a great experience.

I'm sure some people put lots of effort in so...
