The side bar can be hidden in your user options.

Click on my profile / user cp at the top right.

- click on edit your details on the left.
- Look for Show Sidebar on Forum Pages under Additional Information.
- Click disable and save.

On a side note:
Great to see users now receive a notification when they are quoted.

For those complaining about the new site, just give it a few days. It's the first day of launch and I'm sure the team are working very hard to transition from the old site format to this new responsive modern design; of course there will be some bugs, but it's looking very promising and is far easier to navigate.

And can we get rid of the "Likes"? This isn't Facebook! What a mess!
it's ok. did not take you were frowning at me.

i myself understand your saying and frustration of the users of years.

many, yes, too many features, which can be sometimes, so to speak, nuisance. newly introduced 'like' may fit in there, i guess. we have 'rep' already, which is dual use.

by the way, facebook seems to introduce 'dislike' button reportedly due to members' request...

Re: New site look and software upgrade Feedback Thread

I agree there's no point in having 'like' when we already have Goodrep

Apart from all this, great effort

Fascinating. So far so good, I guess. I don't mind taking some time to get used to things -- it's normal.

I like the "Likes" -- maybe if you already goodrepped someone you can't good rep them again, so at least you can "like." Plus the good reps are private, but everyone can see that a post got 50 likes. I think that's cool.

Of course, it'd also be great to see which posts would get 50 dislikes.

I disabled the toggle sidebar, but it still appears on the main page and on the sub-forums too. It's invisible in the threads themselves and in my CP only.
How can I completely get rid off it?

my avatar is not showing (classic).

Can I find the old startpage somewhere? (I mean the list of the forums. I can't explain it better)

Re: New site look and software upgrade Feedback Thread

Some good features.
Some very terrible ones.

1) I'm not able to hide the sidebar. (Tried the disable option "Edit your options" multiple times.) It just doesn't go.

2)Can we get rid of the orange and chose a different colour?

3) The vBookie section has been buried away. This is going to kill the game. It needs to accessible in one click like before.
Private Messaging too should be one click away.

looks good on a laptop. great job

ASI Director-General Gautam Sengupta said the list of India's treasures held abroad was "too long to handle" and there was a need for a "diplomatic and legal campaign" for their restitution from institutions, including the British Museum, the Royal Collection and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

Love some of the new features and all.

But don't know why you kept the old fonts, I mean there are plenty of far more legible and contemporary fonts for use, and with Google fonts for example, it takes a 10 min job to change them. I really dislike this 2001 style font.

Thanks, mate.

It worked even though it's still there in GM and all other sub-forums main pages.
Also, I think disabling it should be a more intuitive process.

I like the feature you've mentioned, being notified when a post of yours is quoted. Probably that's the best thing for this upgrade.

Federer on what aspects of Rafael Nadal's and others' games elevate him as a player
I have actually helped more the other players than they have helped me to improve, because I put tennis in a different league.

Guess who?
Next year it’s going to be better for Davis Cup and they might be rewarded by me playing again more often.

Djokovic is exciting because we see a grandmaster at work dissecting his opponent piece by piece. Djokovic will break your will if he doesn't break your game first.

How strange. I've never seen it once since I first disabled it. Seems others are having issues with the sidebar reappearing on some pages too.
