Re: Wednesday OOP & Scores

Today Wednesday there is also football in Basel (FC Basel/Barcelona)

Federer taking the night off tennis for football

Roger Federer plans to put football ahead of tennis Wednesday night by going to see his hometown team play in the Champions League.

With no match scheduled for the top-seeded player at the Swiss Indoors, Federer will be across the street at St. Jakob Park, where FC Basel — the team he has supported since childhood — faces Spanish powerhouse FC Barcelona.

"We've got great fans, a great team," Federer said Tuesday. "I'm looking forward to it. ... We've got a tough group but anything is possible, especially at home."

Although a lifelong fan of the Swiss champions, Federer has a personal connection to the stellar Barcelona lineup.

"It's great to see such good players here in Basel such as Thierry Henry, a good friend of mine," Federer said. "I'm also looking forward to seeing him playing well but I hope Basel can get the victory."

Federer might not be the only top 10 tennis player in the stands. David Nalbandian wants to see his friend, Argentina striker Lionel Messi, play for Barcelona.

"If I did get a chance I would like to go," Nalbandian said. "I don't have any ticket yet."

... and Berdych has a free day too (next match in double tomorrow with Kiefer) wish I could go shopping with him. Basel such a lovely place!
