Re: Beijing Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated September 3, 2008)

David Ferrer has been called up for the Spain's DC SF vs USA. I doubt he'll refuse to take part in that SF and go to Beijing instead.

When I'm good, I'm very good...but when I'm bad, I'm better

So Fernando is playing in here? Wow
I expect him to withdraw after Davis cup, I suppose.

Cilic is playing Davis Cup against Brazil.
I am not 100% convinced that he will play here.

Re: Beijing Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated September 21, 2008)

A cut-off of 183 is extremely high for an ATP tournament -- and they even had four Byes. Many challengers have a lower cut-off. There are some good higher-ranked players, but why is this tournament so unpopular with lower ranked players? I guess travel cost plays a role and many European players prefer to stay in Europe playing challengers and wait for the European indoor tournaments. And it looks like Bangkok is more popular this week.

TT Singles 2012: W: Winston-Salem SF: Honolulu CH, Rotterdam, Memphis, 's-Hertogenbosch, Wimbledon, Beijing, Vienna QF: Barcelona, Nice, Bastad, Petange CH, Bangkok R16: Monte Carlo, Madrid
TT Doubles 2012: W: Caloundra CH (with kingroger), Acapulco (with keqtqiadv) F: Beijing (with KittyTennis) SF: Sydney (with Belludal), Memphis (with Belludal), Guadalajara CH (with kingroger), Wimbledon (with RHB1993) QF: Barcelona (with extremaduratenis), Cincinnati (with stbanchile)

gosh i thought you were being sarcastic, and then maybe you just got high and low mixed up!...?

it's a good point. don't forget the higher ranked players are there perhaps because of appearance money

but if things go according to the atp's grand plans, this will all change next year.
