Tennis Tipping - Davis Cup
Welcome to Tennis Tipping Davis Cup!
What is Tennis Tipping - Davis Cup?
In the game, participants will team up into teams of 2 or 3 from the same country. Both participants in the team pick the winners of all matches in all ties (singles and doubles)
. If there are more than 2 on a team, you can have one tipping the doubles or whatever you think is best. Teams are placed into a knock-out format (just like the actual Davis Cup), also known as a tie.
In a tie, players will be matched up just like in the real Davis Cup. You will play both players from the other team, as well as a doubles match. Certain Davis Cup matches in each tie will be assigned to each match. This is an example for a complete tie. :
FIRST MATCH (First Days Singles) :
Player A (AUS) v. Player C (ENG)
Player B (AUS) v. Player D (ENG)
SECOND MATCH (Doubles) :
Player A/Player B (AUS) v. Player C/Player D (ENG)
THIRD MATCH (Last Days Singles) :
Player B (AUS) v. Player C (ENG)
Player A (AUS) v. Player D (ENG)
The Number Of Teams Per Round:
- In case of a tie, a tie-breaker match for which the score (as opposed to just the winner) is given, will decide who wins the match. For all participants, this tie-breaker match is the same and will be assigned beforehand.
- In case a player (i.e. the actual Davis Cup Player) who is scheduled to play is replaced by another in any of the rubbers, this match will be cancelled and not taken into consideration when calculating the number of correct picks.
How to Sign-Up:
1. As there are no team captains as such, I will give priority to the people who played in the last round - if they don't want to/can't play, only then can they be replaced by other people from that country who commit. In the next post there is a list of teams still left in the competition and the players who played in the first round. In the first instance, can all those players please confirm that they want to play in the Final.
2. There is a limit of 3 places per team - most teams only have 2 players. I will give details of how you can add a player once all the current players have confirmed their participation.
How to send in picks:
Picks can be sent in as soon as the draw is released. Remember, you pick a winner in every match in every tie! Picks should be sent by PM, so that your opponent does not know your picks. Picks should be titled: TT: Davis Cup Picks can be sent in anytime until the beginning of play in the first tie. No changes can be made.
It sounds a bit complicated, but it will be easier to understand once the draws for each of the ties come's out. Just remember, you have to pick the winner of every match in every tie (even doubles).
