Re: Austria vs Croatia (clay) World Group

as far as i know, austria has yet to lose at home this could be really tough, but i still think we're overall better, even on clay

my favorite was the worst number 3 player in the world

Re: Austria vs Croatia (clay) World Group

Me to, Austria 3-2, Koubek is in runing form, Ančić can't win in any rubber (if he isn't plaing against pairs player) and Karlović is injured (just mocking, it's better that he is, he's on clay like a fish on dry). I love our team, but in history of DC, an actual champion (Croatia in this case) never won first opponent next year. It's clay and IMO Austria good dogie.

p.s. Ivanišević beat Muster on DC match in Austria (clay) so everything is possible...

Re: Austria vs Croatia (clay) World Group

melzer is 1-0 against luba, and luba is 3-3 all time with koubek, so on clay, it could happen i think

Re: Austria vs Croatia (clay) World Group

Maybe Croatia feels too secure, a lot of things can happen and Koubek's Davis Cup strength, paired with the good showing he had last week could be Austria's chance here. (and if Melzer also contributed any points, well, even better )

Can't tell you how much I would like Austria to upset Croatia
Croatia is the clear favourite, but I hope Austria wins!

Los gehts! Melzer, Koubek, Knowle and Muster!

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

A new try, since nobody answered my question in the thread about the team nominations:

One of the other players in the squad or maybe a coaching assistant. It happened in 2003 when Rosset played doubles.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Austria vs Croatia (clay) World Group

Thanks! Has he made any statement in that regard, do we know who will coach him during his matches?
And does he have to coach the other player or are they allowed to have a coaching assistant for all the rubbers? Ljubicic may have to get ready for his own match, he can't coach Ancic during his whole match (and it must be mentally exhausting to do both jobs!)
