Re: Russia VS France

I do think that Safin's withdrawal does mean that Davydenko is in.

Re: Russia VS France

No, Tursunov won't play. It's clay, and he does not really want to play for Russia. Russians will bring some youngster.

Re: Russia VS France

Well, of course, Tursunov won't play! He never plays for Russia
Marat... It seems he won't play, too (though he promised to!)
So we have Misha, Kolya (injured), Igor (injured also - remember his match vs Roddick... poor guy ) and maybe some young guy? We have good juniors. BTW, does there have to be 4 players in the team?

I get the impression that the Russian tennis federation totally ignores Tursunov. 2 years ago after he made it to the 3rd round of the US Open upsetting Guga (before his latest back injury)...he wasn't even offered a wildcard to the Moscow open.

They may not like him since he applied for US citizenship...which is silly.

Re: Russia VS France

While commenting today's Wimby semi, Forget confirmed that Grosjean wouldn't be part of the team against Russia, because he had withdrawn. And he added that he'll announce the names of the players officially on Monday.

Best of LUCK to ALL my Faves in 2015

I've heared he WAS invited to the team several times, but he refused...

P.S. I don't like him for applying for US citizinship...

Waining for the announcement of the players... Both Russian and French

Re: Russia VS France

*sigh* hope that decision doesnt cost the team.

Séb Grosjean ; Arnaud Clément ; Guillermo Coria; Marcos Baghdatis; Jo Jo Tsonga
Lleyton Hewitt and Andy Roddick are arrogant pigs

Re: Russia VS France

So it's official. Safin will play as well as Davydenko.

Russia: Safin Davydenko Youzhny Andreev Gabashvili
France: Gasquet Mathieu Clément Llodra and we still don't know the 5th player

Maybe Forget should call Santoro as the 5th man

Re: Russia VS France

Well it's confirmed by Tarpischev who's been insinuating too much on this...so won't believe it till I see it on the official site LOL...however according to the rules you can change the players one day before...so I wouldnt be surprised if Shamil is playing mind games with the French and will announce a totally different team on the 14th..arghghgh

I've just read this news about Marat. Sounds cool, but everything's changing every day! I don't even know, believe it or not...
